Kat has joined the galaxy of stars performing at the High Hopes Tribute Dinner in Denver September 29th. The show also features performances with David Foster, Smokey Robinson, Babyface. George Lopez will host as Master of Ceremonies. The night will provide entertainment reminiscent of those seen at the Carousel Balls presented in Denver by Barbara and Marvin Davis from 1978 through1985.
Steve Farber, Colorado leader and founder of the American Transplant Foundation will be the honoree at the benefit for the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes and the Children’s Diabetes Foundation which serve over 5,000 children with diabetes. At least we know what she's going to be doing after filming her new movie. Kat is awesome. I can't think of another young celebrity that does so much charity, so often. I'm sure there are other young celebrities that do, but I can't think of anyone right now, can you?

I may not be able to afford a ticket the High Hopes Tribute on Sept. 29th but I am trying to at least get some coverage of the event! Here is the email that I sent to the Entertainment Reporter with 9News (NBC) here in Denver. I was amazed that he responded immediately to my email. I will try other TV stations in the area to try and get some sort of coverage for Kat!

I didn't know that the performers usually fly in the same day of an event. Do they rehearse in LA beforehand? After they arrive? Or are they talented enough to wing it?

This event seems ideal for a PBS station. Or at least one of the municipal government cable channels...
So this is the 4th Foster gala Kat will be in? There's the JCPenney Jam, the Carousel Ball, the Niagara Falls event, and now this? I think those other events were stacked with more talent, so maybe Kat will get to perform more numbers this time. I'd bet on another rendition of "I Have Nothing".
David Foster and Babyface were pretty much the king producers of pop during the mid-1990s, with Babyface also getting involved as a performer. I remember one Grammy Awards held in that era where he was basically living on stage between singing, playing guitar, and winning every award in sight. It would be cool if Kat sang something like Madonna's "Take a Bow", which Babyface wrote and produced (and sang background vocals, I think).

Oh, PBS! I forgot about that one! Denver does have a very active group promoting that channel so I will definitely email them or give them a call.
I emailed the writer of the Denver Post Aricle regarding the High Hopes Tribute Dinner that made this site. I just sent it off awhile ago so I'm sure I won't hear back until at least tomorrow. I did push the fact that since Denver was recently awarded the Democratic National Convention next year, that this dinner could just be the start of celebrity filled social affairs. Maybe Kat will be back! Don't know if she has an affiliation with the major political parties...not that I care. I just hope she will be returning to Denver!
I did mention to Joanne Davidson (the reporter that wrote the Denver Post Article) that Kat's parents met in Denver. Just a little something to "wet her appetite" for the interview that I'm hoping she will do!!!!
