A huge energetic crowd was present at the Tacoma concert Sat. night.  As for me,  I'm finally getting my brain back in gear to write this after seeing Kat perform  LIVE there.  Watching her perform with her dymnamic stage presence and amazing voice purity was an incredible experience for me. Everything everyone has said after seeing her is definitely true. She looked gorgeous, but a bit different from most of the pics. since her hair was straight.  She had an upbeat attitude with lots of energy.  She added some extra trills near the end of SOTR and the last note=wow!  She had many cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends of theirs in the audience, and they saw an outstanding performance by Kat. I only got a couple of pics of her that aren't blurry. What a mess!

Now back to ealier in the day.  I got to the bus unloading area at 1:30 only to find out the buses had arrived at 1:15. Everyone said Kat , Lisa and Mandisa had gotten off right away and had gone directly into the building-no waves etc.  If I had been there, I would have tried to get her attention to come over to the fence.  Anyway I missed her, and that was the only reason I had arrived so early. Someone is e-mailing me a pic. I'll send on, but the pic is from a long distance.  This time she had on a white T- shirt,  blue jeans and a black cap. When I arrived, Ace and Taylor were at the fence  signing things.  Paris came over with her mother? or aunt?  I talked to her a little -she is very soft spoken.  All were very nice.  Soon Bucky came out of the gate for lots of hugs, auto, pics-etc, but I obviously wasn't there to see him.  Kellie came off the bus much later and didn't even look our direction. Paris had said ealier that Kellie was't feeling well, so I was pleased that she was able to perform. People said that some of the idols come out for autographs at different times so my long wait started.  In the meantime, I asked every official looking person about M&G but no luck.  A lady waiting with me teaches with Kat's aunt (Peisha"s sister),so we had a nice talk about Kat.  She told me about all of the relatives etc. that were at the concert and that  Kat will be staying in the area to visit before joining the others in Denver.

On to the show-I'm not going to elaborate since the performances were pretty much like the recaps from other shows. This was my third  year of attending an idol concert, and I thought it was by far the best.. However, this is the first time I have been a fan of any of the idols or wanted to meet anyone. To me the overall talent and variation of song styles made it a much more entertaining show than in the past.  I really liked most of the show, and I was impressed by Mandisa and Lisa.  Kellie didn't say much, she only talked for a couple of minutes.  Chris was definitely the favorite and that didn't surprise me since many rock bands have originated in the Seattle area. That's just not my kind of music. I talked to Mattsie, and it was nice to meet another Kat fan.

After the show , I went back to the bus area and waited for over an hour in hopes of finally having my Kat sighting.  None of them ever came out where we were waiting.  I decided it was time to hit the road home.

That would have been great sitting next to someone who knew the family to discuss Kat with. Most of the people in my immediate vicinity were heard talking about Taylor or Chris...so my section nearly busted a vein when they came out to perform.

Thanks, Linda, for your recap. We appreciated you taking the time to relay information to Elphie last night here on the board. The people you talked to really were generous on giving out information about her--and you were lucky to get a chance to talk to them. While Kat probably wants to keep it on the downlow she's staying in the area for Labor Day...it's a good feeling to know she'll be seeing relatives she apparently hasn't seen in a little while.

Where approximately do you think her family members sat in the audience? From Mattsie's vids, some of them shouting out sounded like they were about halfway back. You'd think that they'd be able to get closer--but all sales at these shows are obviously first come-first serve. I found that out the hard way (I missed out on the pre-sales), despite my seat in Portland being not bad. It was a great angle, but just not close enough to get all details.

At least you and Mattsie had fairly good seats. And I was hoping you'd put up some photos, but I understand how it goes with Kat looking blurry. She moves faster than any performer I've ever seen. It was almost divine intervention I managed to get those panoramic shots I took with her standing still. Even those have her arms blurred a little--because she really uses those a lot.

Thanks again for your review. Tacoma was really a great time along the tour because of that Kat family connection. But all of us Northwesterners had moments we won't forget.

Thanks for the re-cap, Arden.  I'm sorry you didn't get to meet Kat, but at least you got some inside scoop on her family. I'm wondering just how loud you would have yelled if you got to the busses in time

"Haha! I love your comments. You just wait there will be more of Kat in Glasses! ha! I love the pic of Nena in glasses. DID you do that? Clever is so! XX kat"
