Here's some extra thoughts on the concert itself. I only have about 10 minutes so it'll have to be sorta short (by my standards)...Really quick...I was impressed by the San Jose crowd...it was actually louder than Sacramento and I thought Sacramento was pretty loud. This surprised me really because the Bay Area's a little more "sophisticated" than Sacramento (or at least that's the perception) but then I remembered that San Jose is really different from say San Francisco...a lot different actually. I should have known this having lived down there while I was in college...
Anyway, as for the show...I did find it funny how just about everyone uses the same lines for their "speeches"...Mandisa switched it a little because she obviously wasn't in her hometown this night...but Ace said the same thing...Lisa pretty much although she was overwhelmed by the fantastic response she got from the crowd (I think it surprised her how much everyone loved her)....Paris did her same routine...Bucky played the same joke on the crowd about them "almost" being the loudest crowd they've had...Kellie told her Sonic story...Chris asked if everyone would be back next year for his Tour (again)...Elliott did say that he thought all the crazy Kings/Monarchs fans in Sacramento were wild but that San Jose was ever better (and he was right)...props to Elliott for always putting some sports references into his talks...Katharine said a little something different (which she always does...although she did use the same intro to "Think" about having the ladies tell there man this...). She was sad to have to leave California after the show and she wanted to thank everyone for getting all of the Idols to this point in their lives and all of that good stuff...she's so darling she could have been saying anything and I'd just nod my head in wonder. And then I start to lose it after Katharine leaves the stage...it all becomes a blur...Taylor's entertaining but I can't match the enthusiasm everyone else has for him so...whatever.Anyway, the real highlight for me though was "Living In America"...Well, first...Katharine sang beautifully as always...I actually enjoyed it more in San Jose because I didn't get all light-headed...I managed to just relax and enjoy all of her lovely Kathariness on stage...Oh, I will add that I think Katharine danced more and more vigorously in San Jose...she was moving in Sacramento too but she was really going last night...she did that shaking her dress around thing I like so much at the end of "Think"...much love for that. But onto "Living In America" (ahhh, look at the clock...hurry!)....so I described the white skirt, white top thing yesterday...I didn't do it justice. This was way, way better than I thought initially. Much better seats in San Jose to see everything that was going on up there...Not that I didn't already appreciate the McBooty but...well, hopefully there's video out there (I haven't looked yet, haven't had time between driving everywhere and trying to sleep and writing these reviews...)....because she came down the ramp to our side of the arena...turned to head toward the middle of the stage and gave us a little shimmy, shake and....that's just unfair...one person shouldn't have absolutely everything so perfect...oh my God!OK, I really have to go...I'll be back in my usual late night time...hopefully I've got lots of responses to our wild evening chasing Katharine around San Jose and beyond (no, we weren't following the buses...at least initially...I know we were going to stake out the hotel but...fine we're stalkers...sorry Katharine, like I said we just do it all out of love.)
