Well, that quote of her seeing orange gives a lot of indication that she was expecting to see something there. Though maybe she figured it'd be automatic being her homecoming. I suspect she thought something big was going to happen--and I hope she knows that it was intended to be much bigger...even though it still went well.

Thanks for Kat's incredible 'OtR', Minnie. She really made this into something special as she always does. I liked her new extended melismas on the 'beyond the rainbow' line toward the end. It gave her a chance to show off her ability to create a pure tone even when getting into melismatic territory. But that final 'Can't I' line must have made Dan McPhee cry again. That's kind of funny seeing Kat ribbing her dad like that recently about his crying--but that would have been a perfect time for the camera to pan in on him again with tears streaming down his face.

One thing I really enjoyed here: Kat catching the camera and looking right into it so it looked like she was looking right at you on the big screen. I haven't seen her do that much in the other concert media in past weeks. But she did this performance almost as if she was performing on 'AI' again in front of millions of viewers at home. I hope she uses that use of the camera again in upcoming shows. Seeing her look right into the camera lens on the big screen gives that more personal feeling that she was able to bring back to TV performing again while on 'AI.'

It looks to me that Kat's foot is almost healed. I didn't detect any sense of limping--even though I've heard some say that she's limping when arriving to the venue. So it apparently goes through stages of feeling better one minute and then other times not. But the stage is undoubtedly the ultimate placebo for Kat...which means no pain medication is necessary.

Thanks so much for the wonderful insight information-- it sounds as if Katharine tried to really make this concert a personal effort. She just does everything so well, how can we find any fault in her? But I totally get the visual image you're talking about of her looking right into the screen as she sings, just like she used to do on AI. Those sweet, treasured, personal moments on the screen as if she were singing right to you. That is an artist. That is giving. And we know that for her, this is what it's all about. We love our Katharine!
