Hey Everybody!!!!

I'm back from the Columbia, SC concert and what a wonderful time it was!!!! A number of late night dwellers were still in the chat room and we had a PLAY by PLAY of the night's events!! A good time was had by all! WOW, there's so much to say but since it's now 6:00 a.m., forgive me if I make no sense at all! LOL I may have to do this in two parts!

First of all, Kat looked stunning in a long black evening gown. As always, she looked very elegant and sounded great - but I noticed she wasn't moving quite as much during Cherry Tree. I was happy to hear her voice is improving with each concert. She put the growls and all the fun stuff back in BHACT tonight! I LOVED IT!!!

When she spoke to the crowd after the song, she said HEY YA'LL! She made a joke about it and it was too cute! They don't usually say that in LA but all the Southerns are winning her over!!! LOL Kat was very UP and so excited, like her early days on Idol. She talked about what a bummer it was for her to miss the first part of the tour because of vocal problems. But said she was determined that NOTHING was going to keep her from singing in COLUMBIA tonight!!! (Thank the Lord!!! If she has missed the concert, I'm afraid my family would have had to check me into a mental institution!!! He, He!!!!)

Kat laughed and said so have you heard the latest . . .

then she raised up her black dress, kicked out her leg and her foot was in a cast! Now I've fractured my FOOT!!!!! The crown went wild!!!! Nobody could believe it!!

She had the best attitude about it. She said nothing was going to hold her back if she had to hobble all over the stage and that's exactly what she did!!! LOL I've joked that she must live on an Indian Burial Ground or something! Now I'm starting to believe it!!! Bless her heart!! SOTR was gorgeous!!! No surprise there!!! However, you must watch for the waddle she does in the middle due to the foot boot! I almost cracked up and dropped the digital camera!! LOL

Somebody yelled out WE LOVE YOU KAT! Then some guy said YOU'RE LOOKIN' GOOD. We don't care if you hobble!!! She was just so precious about it and such a trooper! At the end of the song, she promised that the next time we see her, she will be doing more songs. In fact, she was suppose to do three tonight until the McPhoot problem!!!! LOL

When she left the stage, you see her waddling off from behind and it is really comical. Kat was laughing about her dilemma so that made everybody feel comfortable to laugh with her. She handled it like a pro! Several people around me said that poor girl has been through a lot. I thought, you have no idea - and her fans have gone through it with her every step of the way! During the group song, she couldn't do the "Richmond Shimmy" and/or Bump and Grind with Tay Tay. But she did dance and worked her way up and down that ramp! LOL

The best part, when she got center stage she was hopping on one foot and kicking her boot up with the other. She even came up with some new dance moves . . . especially the McHop and Twirl! Surely to be the new rage across the country!!!

I uploaded my very first video for my fellow KMF members!!! It's Kat telling about her fractured foot and SOTR. I just converted the video to wmv and uploaded it to a server where I do web design. Thought that was the fastest route since I'm brain dead!!!

I also have other videos to upload and funny stories to tell. While I was using the Digital camera, my friend was taking pictures with my 35mm. I plan to get those developed tomorrow and will post ASAP. So do drop back by this thread to read PART 2 of my review and see the goodies. You must hear the ingenious way I got upgraded seats and also what happened at the buses after the concert!! That's it for now, McPhans!! Your roving reporter is exhausted!

Wow! Great post, Teilah! Sounds like you had fun! Can't wait to read Part2 of your review and all the goodies! Hopefully kat would get well soon, she has a great attitude towards it though.

One more thing, Teilah..... You're right about Kat's gorgeous gown! It reminds me of that famous blue gown (the one she had to use tape with) during the competition --one thing's for sure: there's lots more about Katharine McPhee than just her hair that's SEXY! PS: Your avatar choice is superb (in my version of the photo she's also offering everyone a "warm" shoulder) --don't you adore her sultry brunette look in either avatar pose!?

Great review, Teilah--and the link works just fine. Thanks a mil for capturing that whole moment for everybody. Another incredible performance by Kat there of 'OtR'--though maybe some slight signs left of her laryngitis in some of the highest notes. Her voice has been so pure every night, though, that it boggles the mind. And...did you notice some of the guys chuckling in the audience when Kat started to pull up her dress to show her legs? They probably wondered at first: "What in the world was this accident?" Or "Why can't we see those gams all night?" I couldn't see the cast on her foot though. So at least we know (from media this morning) that Kat broke her foot backstage and not out on stage. Maybe Kat was practicing some of her dancing moves back there--or it may have been dark, etc. We shouldn't have to know, of course, because it's undoubtedly embarrassing to talk about. Most of us who've had accidents like that don't really want to talk about how it happened...unless Kat tells it in an interview soon. She's so self-deprecating at times, that I wouldn't be surprised if she told what happened before long. Anyway, that story beforehand actually added a great setup to 'OtR.' Once again, the song was taken to a different place reflecting other thoughts and feelings. It's just another performance for the ages. We may get a 'different' performance of that in every single city--and I'm really enjoying watching everybody's vids from each night. It almost makes the written review obsolete. Even though Kat couldn't do any dance moves, her arms are still in good shape. That's where her real fluidity is in her movements. She even did that McSnake Hips move for a second with her arms raised and while looking at someone in the audience. (Maybe Kellie again under that dark hoodie?) Looking forward to Part Deux. I assume you may have talked to Kat by the tour buses? I'll come here first when I return tonight to find out...

What a great video! Thankyou so much for this and looking forward to your part 2 and your still pictures. I just figured it out yesterday - use the big screens unless you are practically sitting in the performers lap. We are watching a video anyway, so it doesn't matter if it is a video of a video. Glad you figured this out for yourself! You must be the only one at the concert who didn't actually see Kat because you spent the whole time looking through your camera at the screen! Another great performance by Kat. Wow does Columbia love her? Was the reception this great for everyone or is Kat now the main event for this tour? Hard to believe this is only her 7th performance in a full blown concert (2 AI at Kodak and 5th idol tour.) So professional and way to work the crowd, you'd think she'd been doing this for years. Time to re-issue Simon's quote about "making the others look like good amateurs" and "like a returning pro" and "in a completely different league" Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Luved your phab review And the vid, WOW, the sound quality allowed me to hear Kat's beautiful voice is improving. She handled her "Mcboot" situation like a PRO. Thanks again.Can't wait for Part 2.
