Dearest Kat,
I can't even begin to express how much you mean to me in a simple letter but I'll try my best. You are one of the most beautiful, talented and overall amazing people I have ever seen! Every performance of yours brings tears to my eyes just like with Papa McPhee except I'm only 16 years old! When you perform the stage lights up and it is simply breathtaking! You are such an inspiration to me and I just know there are even more fantastic things in store for you, and I can't wait because I miss watching you every week! You just have this amazing presence and it draws people in and makes them want to watch you! I think you are so brave and strong for admitting what you did and helping so many others come to terms with their problems, you truly are my hero. I aspire to be like you and even if I'm only a quarter of how amazing you are I will still be happy! I would give up everything I own to be able to go to one of your concerts but I guess I will only be there in spirit! It seems I really do have a bad case of the Mcpheever which is not at all a bad thing! Anyways I wish you nothing but the best of luck and I am so proud of you! No matter what you do you will always have my support and the support of McPhans all around the world because, in case you didn't know, the world has Mcpheever! Dearest Katharine, What a great blessing you are in our lives. Your voice is such a great gift that touches all of our hearts everytime we have the great good fortune to hear you sing. God has certainly touched and transformed your life in a very beautiful way and allowed us all to be transformed at the same time. It all seems a bit "mysterious" in some ways but so real in its effect! We are extremely proud of you and can't wait to see you and hear you on the tour. Teen People hit the stands today and you truly are an "American Beauty"-I especially loved that picture of you at the petting zoo holding the goat. OMG that is just the cutest!!!(the goat looks very happy too!) And your mom, she is just the sweetest, I loved those little captions she wrote for each picture.So adorable! So Katharine, have a wonderful and joyful time on tour. I will hopefully "catch up with you" in Rochester, NY on July 21st!.I am just trying to figure out who I have to "bribe" to get a pass to meet you! Dearest Katharine,

You are truly everything that is good in this world and loved for your genuine kindness, endless talent, and natural beauty. Kat, you are an inspiration to all ages. I have to tell you that my birthday is July 5th, the first day of your idol tour. How awesome is that!!!! I can't wait to see you!!! I have tickets for the August 18 concert at Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY. I will be wearing an orange shirt to show my support!!!

When I was in high school I had two totally different people tell me that I reminded them of Dorothy from the "Wizard of Oz." I was honored and surprised because I am a long haired brunette, but don't look anything like Judy Garland. I actually think it may have had more to do with my singing ability and sweet nature. My friends thought that I should sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" for the spring concert. Years later, it is ironic how life evolves. I am certain that all things happen for a reason, and I feel that God has truly blessed me along with the rest of your fans in giving us such a precious gift, you!!! I pray that God will always keep you and your family safe, healthy and happy on your journey through life. You are truly an angel on this earth and will always be loved for all that you are and all that you do.

Dear Kat,

I can't wait to see you on tour, July 15!! My Name is Ashley and im 15 years old. I know a lot of your fans must be telling you how wonderful you are, and thats because its true. You are such a role model for girls like me. Your GORGEOUS, have the voice of an angel and the cutest personality. The McPhans are really spoiled, and were just now getting used to the fact that we cant watch you perform every week on American Idol anymore, but it is also important to us that you rest and have your downtime. Im very thankful that you shared the story of your battle with bulimia. I can only imagin how hard that must have been. Unfortunatly i know what its like to do things to your body that your not proud of. I want you to know that you've helped me, and im sure you've helped alot of others as well. I could say that you're my role model and I want to grow up to be just like you.  Except that I'm a 37-year-old man, so that would just be weird.  And scary.

Remember my screen name, because I'll keep sending messages.  My goal is to at least put a smile on your face, because I want to return just a tiny bit of what you have given to me.  (Awwwwwww, ain't that just the sweetest EVER?) 

So although I don't have some deep, meaningful message or inspiring words to share, that doesn't make me any less of a fan.  I know you appreciate all of us, no matter where we live, how young or old, and whether or not you ever meet us in person.

I am one of your "older" fans. I love your voice, I love your personality. You have made me laugh out loud and you've made me cry. You have a gift and I know you will use it wisely.

My husband ask me what I wanted for our 28th Wedding Aviversary and I said tickets to the American Idol Concert, I would love to see Katharine McPhee. Well guess what.......I will see you in Cleveland, Ohio!

Even my children (who by the way are around your age) laugh everytime I buy Teen Magazine, your single, any article with Katharine in it. You are known around my home as "mom's girl."

I love your role models (Julia Roberts, Barbara Streisand) you will be right up there with them someday! I love New York and what a thrill it would be to see you on Broadway someday. What an anniversary present that would be!

Katharine, you're such a versatile talent that you have fans in every demographic imaginable--age, location, you name it. I'm probably old enough to be your grandparent. In fact I probably learned to love some of your Idol performance songs when they were being sung by the original artists. It's great that you're introducing the old standards to younger people, and at the same time, helping us "old fogies" to appreciate more contemporary music. When would I ever have heard a tricky song like "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" if not for you? You're a bridge between worlds. Like a rainbow. Keep sparkling, stay cool, stay sweet, stay healthy. Whatever you do in the future, you'll always have a cadre of fans behind you who will appreciate it and want to see and hear more. You're going to be around a long time, my dear, and we're just going to enjoy the heck out of it!

Katharine, I became a fan after hearing you sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow.  Sometimes it is difficult for me put down words how I feel so I whould like to share words to a song by my other favorite Idol, Latoya London, from her CD album 'Love and Life'.

First thing, I cannot wait till I see you on tour July 16th at Nassau Coliseum!!! I really hope I get the chance to meet you while I'm there, it would be a dream come true for me. I want you to know that I have been a fan of yours since day 1 back in San Francisco auditiions. That night watching you on tv I had picked you as my favorite to win this season. I have to say you are my favorite Idol from all five seasons of A.I. Your stage presence is so engaging. You are a truly amazing singer with such a beautiful voice. Katharine, you are an inspiration to me. You inspire me to go forward with my dreams and I have to thank you for that. Hello Kat!

What a tough letter to follow after that beautiful poem from Yogini/Nancy.  I must say God sprinkled you with angel dust or had a big smile on his face when you entered the world.  I've written you before and have mentioned all those "gifts" you've been blessed with and how you'll gain the wisdom to use them in a positive way - and you already are off to a great start.  You really have made an impact on people in such a short time.

In reading these letters you have fans of all ages from all over the world.  I have had the pleasure of getting to know some of them in your "Kat Chat" room on this site.  What do we talk about?  You, of course, former idols, music, SNL, Katie Couric, the Kat Pack, Dixie Chicks, songs we'd love to hear you sing, politics, and pop culture, etc.  The ages range from teens to 60s, and it's been great connecting with people that share a common interest - Katharine McPhee!  The love, support and encouragement for you is incredible and us fans only wish the best for you - you are definitely "our girl." 

Enjoy this tour and keep a journal of your experiences.  Share a lot of laughs and good times with the Idol Gang - it's a once in a lifetime experience.  Also, take care of yourself and that beautiful voice, and get the proper rest you'll need to keep up your endurance.   I'll be writing again while you're on the road!

It's very hard to truly impress me on Idol after all the seasons... but you did it and gracefully! i found myself sticking up for you alot and pointing out to everyone why McPheever would rule the world! lol... so i just wanted to do a little unprepaired poem writing and see how this improv goes!

A Poem for Kat, Our Idol
we watching eyes wide as one by one
contestents left, their part of the show was done
all amazed and shocked the world
then it came down, to one boy, one girl
melissa came out with a unique voice
but 2 big mistakes, she's not america's choice
kevin was cute and fun to see
but he reminded the world of that chicken movie
lisa was cute and a joy to watch
but she took it easy, and the cuteness was shot
mandisa had powerful ways
then she made a contest ending mistake
bucky was fun, we all marveled at his ways
but he was out sung by idols these days
ace was cute, we all agree
men loved to hate him, the girls called him sweet
kellie was cute, amusing no doubt
but when was her true time to be out?
paris, oh paris, how to describe
we all loved to watch, she was catching to the eye
chris, many say should have won
still some support, he knows how hes loved

Dear KAT,

First of all, congratulations on your success on American Idol. Your hard work and dedication paid off for you and your future is wide open with possibilities. The fact that we were there for you makes your good fortune all the more sweeter for all of us. You have made all of us proud and I know you will continue to do so.
I'll be seeing you perform live in Richmond, VA on July 29th. I know that the crowd (for the most part) will be coming to see Elliott. That will be a big rush for him to perform in his hometown. My main reason for going is to see YOU perform. You're a dynamic performer and you have outstanding stage presence.
In closing, I'd like to say that you have had a great influence on many persons, both here in America and around the world. Both young and old think highly of your talent. I wish there was a way I could meet you in person, but I really don't know anyone that can help me to do that. So I will be happy just to see you perform up close.
