Has anyone got meet and greet passes for the tour this summer, to see our lovely Kat? I am trying to get them so I can meet her in person while I am at the tour July 16th.
anyone have any ideas on how to get the passes? PLEASE HELP!!!

All I've seen is the Pop-Tart site where you enter a code from inside specially marked boxes and I guess if you're lucky, you can win one. Kind of like a slot machine -- with similar odds I'll bet...LOL.

You could probably just call the place you will be at for the concert and ask them. I'm sure they could give you some information on it..

FYI - Here's some information I was able to find from the AI boards under the "Idol Concert Series 2006" folder.

The info. posted below is from Kathy St. John a Disc Jockey in West Virginia:

I am a DJ at a radio station....
"meet & greets" are promotional tools.
they are given to radio, tv, and other
media outlets. they are not sold LEGALLY.
(for example, if someone wins meet and greets
on a radio station, they will post them for
sale on eBay....for A LOT of money)

the only way to get meet & greets is to know someone.
or know someone who knows someone.
or know someone who knows someone who knows someone.

or
call up your favorite radio station and see if they
have any contests coming up where you can win.
(or Fox TV station, etc)

and
just to be on the safe side........
DO NOT BUY MEET & GREETS ON EBAY!

-usually at a MEET & GREET, your name is on a list at the WILL CALL box
-there will be a central meeting location for everyone
-you have to show picture I.D. (if over age of 16)
-you meet Idols before the concert in a structured setting
-you meet a representative from AI, who takes everyone
back together as a group

If an eBay auction is going to give you a tangible piece of
paper that says "MEET & GREET", BEWARE!!!!

We just finished a box of Pop-Tarts, but my mom threw away the box. So I totally just went through our trash can looking for the Pop-Tarts box. LOL!!!!!!!
Disgusting!

I did find the box, BUT it did not have an AI Tour code.
It had some crap to win "Island Gear" or something stupid like that. :S

yeah... i dont remember what time we got there.. maybe three? and we were like 10 minutes late because they had been handing out free meet and greet passes. and then like 10 minutes later you just got to go in and meet them (of course we ended up meeting them anyway cause we're special) MUAHAHA! lol And also sometimes if you stay after the concert they come out and sign autographs. lol GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY! (including myself haha)

I would call the place where the concerts are being held, and ask to talk to the manager about them. Thats another way?? I didn't know about the whole ebay thing, thanks for the heads up! I have been telling people to check that out, but I guess I wont be doing that anymore.

They normally arrive to the arena around 2..meet and greet is usually around 3..good luck!

When you arrive in the afternoon for a possible meet and greet, do you have to show your concert ticket or license before they actually let you in? I have tickets to the Louisville, KY concert at Freedom Hall.

Wow, suddenly the meet and greet odds don't seem so long! I have the whole day off the day of my show, so I'll be sure to get there early and see what kinda luck I have! (Crosses fingers, knocks wood, gets rabbit's foot, all that stuff).

I didn't know they gave away free m&g's in some cities if you arrive early. But I don't think many will arrive early. Even I won't be able to, unless I happen to have some time off to go there earlier. How do they pass those things out to people? If there's some guy standing out like a concession barker giving away meet and greets, it might make people a little suspicious.

The ones I've attended in the past for other artists usually happened about half an hour before the actual show started. I was surprised at that initially because of it being so close to showtime. But it was an extremely controlled environment so everything could balance out right. That description I read (is it in this thread?) explaining how the 'AI' m&g process works sounds exactly how I thought it would be. It's controlled, feels like you're entering the Pentagon, and the usual 'representative' leading everybody backstage to get everybody into a single file line. And if you talk to the contestant beyond an allotted minute, a security person probably grabs you by the shoulder and tells you your time is up...or you'll get thrown out.

Someone wrote me a PM this morning at the 'AI' board knowing if I knew of a way of obtaining m&g's for the show this summer. I told her that we have to consider these things to be exactly what they're supposed to be: Exclusive. It's like a lottery ticket that you've won. Yet, even with tricks in winning the lottery that supposedly work, apparently there's some loopholes with obtaining m&g's too.

For me, I'll probably try the usual methods rather than taking chances. And arriving early to the venue to try to obtain them might be a major risk. If I couldn't get them, that means walking around the venue for three hours with nothing to do.

Ace Young's mom is a personal acquaintance of mine, and I talk to her regularly. Perhaps she might be able to get my family and me backstage at the Denver concert.

That's clear in September, so I'll worry when it gets closer.

yeah they are really hard to get. Ive only gotten them once. My sisters friends moms sister knew someone who worked at a radio station. The only other way would probably be to win them off a radio contest. Unfortunatly for me they already had it a long time ago but i was too busy to enter.
so all i can say is youre really lucky if u get them =)

Meet & Greet passes are usually obtained thru winning radio AI promotions, association with sponsors, media, family & friends, if lucky thru you fav idol.  I learned that the idols are alloted extra tixs & M&G passes. They trade with each other if one idol needs additional tixs.  There is some hope if you have connections.

This was posted on the AI board, not sure of the validity of msg, but if is true no harm looking for & getting friendly w/ the POP TART fellow for M&G passes.

I went to the one before the Manchester concert. I really lucked out b/c my mom and I waited around all day and a poptarts guy picked us randomly and gave us the passes! If you get there early you probably have a better chance at getting to meet them.[i]

Been reading the Meet and Greet thread on the AI board.  I few fans have been lucky in obtaining the M&G passes for the pre-concert session.  Some have gotten passes thru some AI concert officials (look for AI badge and person with walkie talkie) by waiting in line early or just by asking politely if passes are available.  The trick is get there early.  LOL, one fan broke his/her arm in the parking lot and was given a pass by security...not sure I would go that far to get a pass.

i read here a lot but many of you probably know me from the AI boards where i posted regularly!  anyway, a friend of mine and myself spent MANY dollars 2 go to 2 of the first shows...only to see kat...yeah well obviously she wasnt there...so now i REALLY just want to just meet her when she comes here to FL on 8/5, so i guess i will just camp out on the day of the show til they arrive, because i don't think i can afford to spend money on another show...SO, if i can meet her before, that would be cool!  guess we'll see what happens...i will try to get more info, but it's like pulling teeth to get it!  ha  that, and all the DJs laugh at you when you ask about the AI concert.  THAT'S fun...ha
