I just got back from the show and here is my review: My day started off very slow and boring. I was just sitting around just thinking about the concert and my chance that I would meet Kat. I'll fast forward now, It was 4:00 pm and Dorian still hadn't called me. I called Dorian back and he says he lost my number so thank God I called him. He tells me my tickets and passes are at the Willcall window with special instructions of where I am supposed to meet Kat. So I get off the phone with him and still just waiting around for the time to leave. My brother calls me up and asks what time we have to leave. I told him 7:00pm but thank God I changed that to 6:00pm since I miscalculated the route. My bro gets to my house around 6:30pm and tells me we have to leave right now because it takes an hour and a half to get to the concert. So we were trying to run out of the house as fast as we could when our tickets for the concert hadn't come yet so we called up Ticketmaster asking them about our tickets. We're talking for awhile and the time is 6:40pm. I tell my brother "Dude we have to leave RIGHT NOW!" He gets off the phone with instructions on where to get our tickets. Finally we hop into the car and start driving. We run into 2 roads where the bridges are broken, making the route longer and by this time It was 7:00pm and we aren't even close to the venue yet. I'm sitting in the car worrying "What if we don't get there in time?" "What If because of our route I can't meet Kat?" So we finally arrive at the venue around 7:30 (after putting the pedal to the metal lol) But then another problem comes around,THERE"S NO PLACE TO PARK! We drove around till 7:50pm trying to find a spot when finally we do at some parking place. Now we have to walk to the venue and it's quite a distance. So I start running and my pants start falling down from carrying too much in my pockets lol) Finally we get to the venue around 8:00pm when Marisa Rhodes goes on to perform (I didn't really care though because I was there to see Kat) but another problem occurs, we couldn't find the Willcall booth and we were walking around the whole park. We ask people for directions and by this time it is 8:05pm (Keep in mind, the meet&greet was at 8:15pm). Finally we find the booth and get our tickets (the ones that didn't come in the mail and don't even ask me what happened to the contest tickets because I don know). Afterwards we mention to the people that I won a contest to meet Katharine McPhee and guess what? NO BODY KNEW WHAT THE HELL I WAS TALKING ABOUT! I talked to several people explaining to them that I spoke to Dorian and he told me to report somewhere to meet Kat. The B104 people say "Let me see what I can do, give me your name a number and I'll call you if anything happens." By this time it is passed 8:15pm. We take our seats watching Matt Kearny perform on the stage. I got so worried complaining "This is not fair, I won the contest, I should be able to meet Katharine McPhee." My brother tells me "Calm down, they said they'll call us if anything happens, don't worry". I say "Now I'm worried that its not going to happen and I tried all that hard work to win the contest for nothing." We're sitting there, (I'd say now it's about 8:30) just hoping to get a call from the B104 people from backstage. Sure enough my brother gets a call from them telling us to come to the VIP entrance. So we go to the VIP entrance and there is a line to stand in with a tent up ahead. I try to peak in the tent from a distance but I couldn't see who was in there. Getting further in line, I run into AsiriusObsession (Jennifer) and her friend (another fan I recognized but didn't know her username) and I introduce myself. We start talking about how frustrating it was getting to the venue and about Katharine and whatever else I said. Then this BIG guy comes up to all of us and says he's Dorian (I didn't hear him say his name) So I say "yeah I called this guy named Dorian, he tells me to come here for directions and....(Jennifer points at him) I say "Oh my God I am so sorry". Dorian says " it's ok. Getting further in line I am able to see who is in the tent, It's Katharine. From a distance I am amazed and have a shocked look on my face just looking at her. I couldn't believe how beautiful she was. Then (drum roll lol) IT HAPPENS! Me and my brother go into the tent and here's my conversation with Kat. Me: (Expressing my words with extreme excitement while shaking her hand) OH MY GOD, I AM SUCH A HUGE FAN, I LOVE YOUR MUSIC, I LOVE YOU, YOU ARE INCREDIBLE. I LOVE YOUR VOCAL ABILITY, I LOVE YOUR RANGE Kat: Oh my, thank you so much (and Kat is amazed by my excitement, her eyes widen and she puts her hands up to her heart) My brother: I love how when you sing, you have full control over your voice and don't over do it. I'm a singer myself and I know how hard it is. (weren't the exact words but I wasn't really paying attention to what he was saying) Kat responds to him: Yeah I know what you mean, tell me about it We pose for a picture with Kat and I say "THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE! Kat says to me: Aww your so cute (Kat called me cute and I just died inside lol) Me and my brother both wrap our hands around her like we're all gang buddies and get our pictures taken by the photographers. Then the photographer says to me "How about 1 with just you and her?" I take off my glasses and pose for the picture, smiling as happy as ever. The photographer shows me the picture and I say "Aww I love that, that's awesome." Afterwards my brother says to Kat "My favorite song from you is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and I say "yeah I love that song" Kat: Aww thank you so much, you guys are sweet. Kat asks us: What's your favorite song on the record? (My brother felt bad because he hadn't heard the record and couldn't say anything. He heard "Over It" before though but maybe he forgot. My brother had a hard time saying anything to her because he was amazed at how beautiful she was. My response to Kat: Ordinary World (It was the first thing that came to mind but it is one of my favorites. Kat looks at me and says: Oh okay, I like that one (or something like that, it's hard remembering the whole conversation) Saying our final good-byes I shake Kat's hand 1 more time and say "It was a pleasure meeting you." and Kat says" Aww thank you very much, are you going to scream for me at the show?" I say "You bet I will" and I walk out of the tent with a smile on my face. The whole meet&greet was 4 minutes....4 minutes of HEAVEN! lol. Walking back to our seats I say to my brother "RYAN WE DID IT, WE MET KATHARINE MCPHEE, THE AMERICAN IDOL RUNNER-UP!. and my brother says to me "I know man, it was unbelievable and went by so fast, I didn't know what to say lol". Sitting in my seat I am still holding the gift that I wanted to give to Katharine. I quickly run back up to the tent and speak with one of the B104 people asking them "This is a gift for Katharine McPhee, can you give this to her, and tell her it's from Matthew Dorn. The lady says "sure thing." I just wish I could have given it to her when I was in the tent, I hope she got my gift. I guess living in the moment of meeting Kat, I totally forgot that I was holding her gift, oh well. We take our seats again still amazed that I met Katharine McPhee, and continue watching Matt Kearny. After Matt Kearny was done, time flew by and Kat came on to perform. Review of Kat's performances: Katharine came out wearing a..(I'm not good with Fashion lol) lets just say, she looked hot, which she did lol. She said her little introduction and started singing "Love Story" Oh my God, I was blown away at how loud she was with so much control. I turn to look at my brother and the expression on his face is priceless. Me and my bro are both enjoying "Love Story" very much and we just can't stop taking out the binoculars and looking at Kat lol. Her second song was "Over It". She sang it perfectly and it sounded so beautiful live. Then she takes a break and introduces her back-up girls. I starting yelling "KATHARINE!". Then next song is "Mary Jane". HOLY SWEET LORD, that song is so incredible live then it is on the fan videos. It was so Amazing and beautiful. Seeing her sitting up on that chair singing was an incredible site to see. I believe the next song was "Dangerous" and WOW Kat pulled out the sexy dance moves, got on the ground , hand formations touching her chest, oh it was so hot to see, I tried my best to get pictures of it but I couldn't keep my camera still. Last song was "Open Toes", She told everybody to stand up and I start yelling and yelling her name. The music starts playing and Kat starts moving up on that stage, shaking her body, turning around, again it was SO HOT to see and of course she sounded excellent. After "Open Toes" was done, she says "Thank you everybody, enjoy the rest of the show" and walks off the stage. Next to come on was "Bowling for Soup" and they rocked that joint. They closed the show out with a bang and I was shaking my head, ah I loved it. The whole concert was over and again me and my bro are still talking about how amazing it was that we met Katharine McPhee. We walk back to our car and just sit there talking about the whole experience with Kat. We drive home playing the whole night back in our minds. So to answer your question, YES I met Katharine McPhee, got her autograph, got a professional picture with her. the whole experience was AMAZING! It was marked as the Greatest day of my life to date and I'll never forget it. Despite of all the trouble I went through getting to the venue, figuring out my whole situation, It was all worth it just to spend that 4 minuets with Katharine McPhee. I'll post up pictures as soon as I can.
