Catch Kat in The House Bunny in theaters nationwide NOW! fandango.com
Here is my review of the concert on Sunday. --I arrived at the venue at 12:30 which is typical for me at Kat events -in hopes of a Kat sighting before the concert. However, that venue is not fan friendly like some of those with a more casual set up, so I never saw her. I met up with Jammer and waited outside while he was at the Meet and Greet with Kat. He called me from there when he finished with Kat, to let me know what went on.
Once inside for the concert, it was interesting to watch the different types, actions, ages etc. of the people arriving. Mostly were female which I guess was fitting for Girls night Out and Mothers Day. I had floor- seats row 3 directly behind the standing "Chick Pit" which was right next to the stage. Luckily I could see over some of the lively ones in there. Lilly Allen was first and had her own band members. I thought the music was a bit loud making it hard to hear her at times. I enjoyed her performance-British accent and all, but she didn't move around much like Kat does. Of course most of her songs aren't the type to require much of that.
Next was Jubal and the Ball Flaggs which I found pretty funny. Five guys in drag including Jubal , and they did one long song. Near the end Sanjaya came out with a microphone and sang -or pretended to sing along. Even though he didn't do much, he got a huge reception, I was glad to see him after all of the hype etc. about him.
By then I was getting very excited knowing Kat was next. I was glad they put up her giant banner showing her album cover and letting everyone know the Incredible Kat had arrived. Her entrance was fantastic as she walked out sing acapella and looking really happy and ready to perform. To me, all of her songs sounded right on, and she really had the sexy/classy/fun combo going with her song choices and the way she presented them. Her stage presence was excellent , as she moved around most of the time covering the whole stage, and she was very personable with the audience. It looked like she felt comfortable with her new dance moves/routines, and she was so cute performing them. They were GREAT! The audience was very responsive to her, and once again she made me feel so proud of her!!Of course I hated to see her part end, and it makes me anxious for a full Kat only concert someday. There is no one like KAT.---
Fergie was last and totally rocked the house!! Like-if anyone had even thought of using earplugs that would have been the time. Fergie, the band and the non stop audience participation were all VERY LOUD. She had a band and 8 really active dancers. I actually enjoy that type of thing, but my hearing might not return for quite some time.--
Overall the whole concert was quite entertaining --but of course I went to see the AMAZING, INCREDIBLE KAT!! ---LINDA
Mary Jane = millions of record sales. I don't think we know this. We don't really know anything. Everybody before Katharine made her CD was saying she had to be more "current", fit in with the mainstream pop world to succeed. Now after the fact, when she's just doing OK with album sales...we know going that way would be certain success.
We don't really know anything. We just know what WE like. And for some reason there's still this issue for Katharine with connecting with people the way I think everyone should. I personally don't get how people could leave a show like Seattle and not run out and pick up her album. Hopefully that happens. She's got 8 more of these to come...
