I don't agree, I think Bucky was WAY better than Sanjaya this year. Sanjaya lacks everything except looks in my opinion and even that is questionable. His voice is not good and he lacks life when he performs for the most part. He really should have been voted off weeks ago and I think he knows it. If he wins I seriously think I'm going to stop watching American Idol. My favorites who I think are all around the best, are Jordin, Melinda, Blake and Lakisha. I think they will be the Top 4, after that...I really don't have a prediction on who will win. I want Jordin too, but I don't if she will or not. Personally, I think she has the most all around appeal. She's young, pretty, and has a heck of a voice! She also seems to have a fun personality, just like someone else we know....lol Well, that's my thoughts!



I think all of this Sanjaya controversy is playing right into AI's hands.. it is exactly what they want ... some controversy to make people interested in the show.  I just get a laugh when people take all this stuff so seriously!!!  HA  It's only a stupid TV show, it's not the end of the world as we know it, if Sanjaya continues on or even wins. 

Also, keep in mind we ALL have opinions.  Just because yours doesn't agree with mine, doesn't make either of our thoughts any less valid.  I think Bucky is not that talented, you do; I think the Sanjaya thing is beyond funny, and evidently you are very concerned about the situation.  That's what makes the world go round... differing opinions.  That's why I think this Sanjaya controversy is so silly to begin with.  Just because some think he is so bad, they condemn the show.  Evidently somebody must like him, because he is still around.  No big deal in my book, just another week at American Idol.

I'm as shallow as the girls and Mom's voting for Sanjaya, 'cos I'm voting for Haley and her legs.  HA HA.



That's exactly why I said "in my opinion" because I wanted to make it clear that it was just what I thought, not what everyone else has to think.  It's just my feelings and you have yours, that's fine with me.

Even the guy Kane on OHP said Gina shouldnt have went. do you think its a possibility GIna would ever get a record contract. I know we WANT her to but will it actually happen? Gina has both the looks and the talent, where as Haley mosty has looks, Im not saying shes a bad singer (that award goes to Sanjayia) but I just think gina was better. I dont think Gina's exit wouldve bothered me so much if it wasnt so early, like if she made the top 6 I wouldnt get mad cause people that have placed 6th and above have a good chance of getting contract (kellie pickler placed 5th and she got a cd out). I hope one day I read on here or somewhere on the interent this headline "former AI contestant GIna Glocksern gets record contract".

I agree that the producers of American Idol are satisfied that the Sanjaya thing is good TV. What really bothers me is that it's all going to Sanjaya's head and he actually thinks he is good. Won't he be surprised when he finally gets voted off and nothing happens when Idol is over. It really is scary that maybe Sanjaya will survive beyond top 5 at the expense of Lakisha or Blake. WOW! What a mess for Idol.

I think that id Gina does get a contract, it will be as the lead singer of a band, but not a solo contract.  I also thought Gina was better than Haley and Sanjaya last week, but she simply didn't have the fanbase she needed to continue.

American Idol is no longer about winning, it is about exposure.  Gina has a much better chance at obtaining a record deal because of Idol, even if she was voted off way too early.  The record execs will at least give her a second listen, as compared to the hundreds of kids that they see that they have never heard of.  Don't worry too much about Gina.  Offers of some kind are probably already headed her way. 

In her post elimination interview on American Idol extra, she kind of mentioned that she was open to "something on Broadway" also.  So, even if she doesn't get a record deal, I bet some wise producer will get her for some great role on stage.

Yeah, I think she will do just fine, as long as she makes the comittment to move to either coast and get out of Naperville, IL ( I live less than 100 miles from there)  It's not a bad place to live, but not a hot bed of entertainment activity either.  All I can say is I'll definitely buy her album, if it's solo or with a Band.  Great Voice, Great Girl.

Just saw Gina on "Live with Regis and Kelly" and as usual, she did a wonderful job. They had an ultra-short interview with her after she sang a very shortened version of "Alone". She said that she plans to move to LA after the Idols tour and "make an album".

yeah i watched her too! she was great! definitely proved that she shouldn't have got voted off [even though i already knew that]. but i hope that she will get a record deal and make an awesome album.

This season is a real disappointment to me. I'm not even voting for anyone. My heart isn't in it, Not like last year. Kat captured me from the moment I saw her, and I was hooked. This year, there is talent in Melinda Doolittle and Jordin, but no comparison to the excitement that AI5 had. Even Ayla Brown, who didn't make the top twelve last year, would give this year's crew a run for their money.

Sanjaya has taken this once great show and brought it down to a level where I just don't care if I see the show or not anymore. Last year, heads would've rolled if I was to miss one minute of it.

I think the talent pool got tapped out last year, and this year, we're left with slim pickin's. Talentwise, Melinda SHOULD win it all this year, but the way the season is going with Sanjaya still there,who knows?

I feel the same way. What is the future of American Idol when they are making a mockery of a very entertaining and successful show. Now diehard Idol fans are pissed off and people are opting out of voting left and right. I refuse to even think that Sanjaya can win American Idol, unless they are planning on not having a future at all. Sanjaya as American Idol makes the choice of Taylor Hicks look like the best idea in the world.

Melinda is like a young-Gladys Knight, I think she'll go the route of a jazz, adult contemporary artist when she's done with AI.  We could use some more singers like Gladys Knight and Sade.  I can't ever picture Melinda singing "My Humps" or anything hip-hop or poppy.  She'll be one of those smooth female crooners and I look forward to buying her CD when it comes out.

AI Season 5 will definitely go down as one of the most successful.  There really was quite the variety pack among that cast and I think almost all of the Top 10 will have CDs out sometime this year.  But, with that said, there's always going to be seasons that aren't as good - Season 3 was probably the weakest, although Jennifer Hudson hailed from that season.   This season isn't bad, unfortunately, the whole Sanjaya thing has gotten out of control.  If people are going to just gripe about it they have the option of not watching, and, that comments not directed at you.  I just get tired of reading about people complaining about this season, so, it's like, "Well, if you don't like it then don't watch it."

Yep.  She is now REALLY showing what a great artist she is.  As good as she was on AMIDOL, she has really been shining on these post-idol shows.  I hope she stays in the public eye as she is working towards her goal of making an album.

She was great on Ellen without the stress of Idol. Ellen and her other guests love Gina and said what a mistake it was to eliminate her. I also just read something that said the American Idol producers are "Pretty positive" that Sanjaya Malakar won't win Idol.

It wouldn't bother me in the least if Mr. Malakar would win.  Winning the competition is not a roadmap to success....BUT, he might put out one heck of an entertaining album.. who knows?

I don't want to badmouth any performer, but if they can make Michelle Branch sound good in the studio, they can make Sanjaya as well.  I say that about Ms. Branch, because I have seen her in a concert setting more than once, and it was painful to listen to, she was so out of pitch.  She makes damn fine CD's, but I wouldn't rush out to see her or the Wrecker's live.

I loved the acess hollywood performce. also click on the vid to the left of the performce one and theres an interview. Shes so sweet. she was voted off way to early, but you can tell in her interviews shes passionate about her music and will contiue her carear. I am so sure now she will get a record deal and will put out a great cd. wheater it be solo or like someone here said in a band, either way she will be succesful.

America is finding out what a great talent Gina is. Not to knock the other ousted "idols", but did you see any of them on all these shows after they were voted off? In an interview setting, yes... but on Regis and Kelly, Ellen, etc, etc. performing!!!!!

This is proof positive that you don't have to win or be in the top 5 of Idol to be great. Long after people long forget Sanjaya Who???? they will remember and know Gina...

I'm getting very nervous about who will be voted off tonight . Indications from DialIdol are that it could very well be Lakisha. Another one who really doesn't deserve the boot and another singer who will be a huge success.
