Hmmm...looks like Co's giving me a chance to "put my money where my mouth is".
OK, I'll stick with my outragious, shocking prediction then!
Super Six Ballot Selection Player 13 bcollan 1. David Cook 2. Carly Smithson 3. Brooke White 4. David Archuleta 5. Syesha Mercado 6. Jason Castro
Thanks to Co for the mass email alerting to high-tail it over here or risk having to do a Super Two. Actually, I hope we also have a Super Two in May--considering that may be the biggest challenge of all if we get two unexpected contestants in those slots.
Greg's Super Sextet...I mean Six...
1. David Archuleta
2. David Cook
3. Carly Smithson
4. Jason Castro
5. Brooke White
6. Syesha Mercado
Yes, I predict Jason will keep on perfecting miracles and make it to fourth, though I wouldn't be shocked if it's higher. I agree with those who think we'll have a Two David finale, which I thought was impossible in the first four weeks. This just proves that "AI" has more left turns than any reality show in history. Thankfully it's (seemingly) random rather than all planned out beforehand.
I also predict the entire Top Seven will get record contracts and go on to do something of worth in the entertainment industry...maybe not all in singing. I'm getting more of a sense each day that Kristy Lee will end up one of the biggest singing stars of the entire bunch. I wouldn't have thought that a while ago, but she just gets better and better if you saw her talk show appearances today. Now that she's relaxed, her smoky vocal purity is finally being allowed to show its worth. It's shades of Kat's history with the show and after.
Speaking of KLC, congratulations to Mattsie for getting a personal note from Kristy Lee on her MySpace. Yes, I saw her comment right above mine--so I put a friend request last night on KLC's page, M. No, I wouldn't have ever thought I'd have three former "AI" singers on my MySpace friends list in 2008.
By the way, some good information on how to get to Selma, OR from trsf. I just wanted to point out, though, that Selma is still about 40 miles or so away from the California border. And Grants Pass is actually about 20 miles to the north of Selma.
Mattsie: Go on Google Earth (if you have it) and you'll be able to see (from a skyview anyway) a lot of the bucolic scenery in Selma. It's quite easy to get there. Just head south on I-5--then hook onto Redwood Highway. That takes you a bit SW until getting to Selma...which you'll almost miss due to having only barely 2,000 people living in the town. But, yeah, the green pastures there are part of what I love about the natural environments in Oregon. I was born in similar environments.
Trivia note about Selma: John Wayne apparently owned a ranch there back in the 1970's after filming the sequel to "True Grit" ("Rooster Cogburn" with Katharine Hepburn). He apparently used that ranch as a hideaway while filming was being done in Eastern Oregon. It still exists now, though the family who owned it in recent years turned it into a museum.
So, don't be surprised if citizens of Selma who experienced the influence of John Wayne use the word "pilgrim" when addressing you.
Player 5: Maddie Weekly Elimination Selection (Super Six): Performance Show Date 4/22/08
3. Brooke White
4. Carly Smithson
5. Syesha Mercado
6. Jason Castro
I'm not a fan of David Cook, not my genre kinda singer, i wanted him 4th but with his fanbase, not gonna happen. and although JC has a bigger fanbase than Syesha, i'm hoping he goes home next, (although, those gorgeous eyes do get to me everytime), for me Seysha is the better singer of the two.
and i'm not even sure i have my top 4 the way i want, can i change them if i make it in time to do so, Co or Joe?
good luck y'all,
now this gets tougher each week.
Yes, Maddie, you can change it as long as it's by the deadline.
Good luck everyone! I will post the selections this evening, gotta run before I'm late for work - yikes!
Here are my top 6 picks again:
Super Six Ballot
Player # / Screen Name
5. Syesha
Cool...everyone did a good job getting these picks in. And I didn't see how this was "late" to do this considering everyone puts their picks in on Monday & Tuesday every week anyway. Not like it takes a long time to list six names. Anyway...
Hmm...I'm going to do this with the weekly themes in mind. So I see Castro struggling with Broadway, Syesha will Neil Diamond and then Brooke's limitations take her out at fourth. Top 3...why not? I'll go with what I want to see instead of what I think will happen...
Player 7 / sjwolves
Just a few notes for the players in the pool...we will continue to do the "elimination picks" as usual each week to the end. For this week your elimination pick will be your 6th place pick on the Super Six ballot.
The scoring for the Super Six ballots will go like this...each week an accurate selection will earn you 5 points. Then for each place you are off you will lose 1 point off that maximum 5 points. So this is how it'll go:

6th – 1 point

Alright, with 17 of 19 Super Six ballots in (and we're running out of time for the other two)...here's what the "Group Picks" are...it's a tight one between the Davids!
And this is what we thought with 12 Idols remaining...
