Can't even blame it on the big rush to get out for Christmas either, as that worked out well for Chris. IT comes down to this - he really can't sing. No one wants to hear a bad singer on the radio or on their ipod or their home stereo. Some people found his onstage antics entertaining, I suppose they will continue to see him in concert. I actually like his style of music - I'd just rather hear the originals than a modern imitator. I'd rather hear my man Otis Redding.
Prediction - Katharine is going to outsell all season 5 put together. Eventually Kelly and Carrie too.
Wow...298K to 202K to less than 39,000? I realize everyone dropped a lot after Christmas (and see...this is why Katharine bailed on Dec 19th!...she can have a more steady sales pattern in February and beyond).
Kellie could go gold if she has a good second single! Good for her. Kellie's expectations are way different than Taylor's obviously given that she finished sixth.
I'm feeling a lot better about Katharine selling more than Taylor seeing this. He really, really needs a single out there. He's exhausted the Soul Patrol's power now. Really? Why has he been singing "Runaround" everywhere then? That doesn't make any sense. Did they think "Just to Feel That Way" will hook non-SPers better? I don't even know the song. Sounds like a slower song.
To date, Fantasia is the lowest selling winner at 1.7 million copies. Kelly & Ruben both pushed 3 million and Carrie's on her way to 5 million. Can Taylor get to 1.7 at this rate? Doesn't look like it. I feel bad for what they've done to him as far as handling having a single and all of that.
I'm still confusing why he's been singing one song on all of these shows and then he's releasing a different one for radio? Huh? Is this normal?
I assume Katharine will be performing Over It at all of her appearances. Hopefully she might get on a few shows that'll let her sing twice (Chris & Taylor did). I wonder what her second song would be. Maybe Better Off Alone to give a pop/soul balance. The gameplan seems to be warm everyone up with more "Idolish/Pop" stuff and let everyone "discover" the R&B stuff later.
WOW. I think saying her out selling kelly clarkson and carrie underwood is a stretch. Maybe in 3 0r 4 years but she needs to work hard to catch up to those gals. Im not dissing her or anything, I mean carrie has had all that success in a YEAR so it is possible, it took Kelly 3 years to get where is is now though. We will see, I hope the best for her,Carrie and Kelly Though. I know they are all very talentes singers so I have no worries about any of these three at all.
