Found this on IDF Taylor responds to the “Too Poppy” criticism: “You gotta think of the CD as a whole. This song as well as the other songs have to strike a balance. I understand where the “Soul Patrol” is coming from with the criticism, I do - and it’s cool. Maybe they expect the whole record to be like this song (”The Right Place”) but it can’t be. This is a huge industry and a huge world of music lovers. I gotta get some new fans, I gotta bring the 17 and 18 year old kids over to the “soul side” via a pop sensibility. I ain’t stupid, there is some give and take on each track. I can’t please everybody on every song but the CD as an entity is something I’m completely proud of. Can be applied to Kat CD too.

Point very well taken, luv. I was so glad to read today that Kat is planning an album with songs for both sets of listeners: "powerful ballads" for the AI fanbase, and pop R&B for the new fanbase she's trying to build.
