I don't mean to sound petty here, but...does this not make you feel better about Katharine's music?

Here's a catchy bit of info...Runaround was a song written for Ray Charles but never recorded by him.

I wonder how Ray would have done it...

I kind of like what Taylor's done with it.

I just doubt it's commercial success?

I dont think its a matter of being petty. I think its a matter of being realistic. The man cant carry a tune, thats the reality. This is not soul, its screaming. I honestly dont understand the draw. It's just my opinion, it has absolutely nothing to do with who won or lost or AI at all.

Hmmm just what I expected from Taylor... nothing special, but I'm sure he would be AMAZING performing it because he is a great entertainer. Honestly though, what radio station would even play that kind of music? What kind of music is it even?! Put it this way, Kat is going WAAAAYYYY further than Tay, but we've known that all along! ;)

when is everybody, going to realize, the guy is a small vegas act, he is a musican, not a singer, he rocks out on stage, but he can't do that on a record, his voice is bad, sorry

Got to tell you guys, I don't care for what I heard of that song of Taylor's nor any of the tracks I listened to on Chris' CD. Taylor's voice is totally unimpressive and the horns on "The Runaround" are way too loud. Not a single song on Chris' CD grabbed me and I found the entire thing (I listened to every track) really boring. I've always liked Rock, but this CD is really disappointing. Not that I was ever a fan of Chris' anyway. I find him just as boring to watch as he is to listen to. He exudes no personality at all. Nothing catchy about any of the tracks on as far as I'm concerned. If Kat's CD doesn't outsell both of them it will really be a shame. She sings circles around Taylor and Chris!

i totally agree with you KateC, have thought that from the beginning of the competition. i saw 3 concerts and  found taylor to be quite the entertainer, but nothing to write home about. i too am saying this not for who won or lost (personally, Kat is much better off today) because i am totally "OVER IT"

Well I hope he has more because those first two songs aren't even close to being in the same class vocally with what we have heard from Kat so far. Chris Daughtry's debut is some of the best rock and roll I have heard in along time. Chris could easily have the #1 album this week if Jay-Z wasn't releasing his. Well done Chris and I hope that Kat's is produced that well.

ew! I did see the SSB and thought it sounded awfully strained and thin and off key, I thought he might just have had a bad day. But these 2 sound equally bad. And this is studio work after many takes and no doubt enhancement. That voice is going to grate on people very quickly, I don't see them having a long radio play life. He will always have his loyal AI fans but I can't see anyone casually listening to this on the radio and being converted.

Yup, makes Katharine's clips sound a whole lot more interesting and much more radio friendly.and hip.

I guess I need to apologize for my initial negative posts about them. 'm very happy to eat some crow.

Well I finally got to hear Runaround. I styill don't get TH's appeal. I absolutely love blue eyed sopul but this guy just can't sing. Waht I have heard only has me reaffirmed that TH is simply a good Vegas act and he will have a good career at that.

The only CD I will be buying on Dec 12 will be Mary J Blige! and certainly not TH.

I find it funny how people made fun of how bad Kat's music is, but it's okay for Taylor to make music that no one listens to. >.<

Her songs are not only a style that people actually like (outside of fanbases), but they are also awesome.. This makes me like them even more!

I love the band on this song, but you can"t understand what he is singing, he is screaming, this is pitiful, i hope he has better songs on his album, just for the sake of his soul patrollers, you can tired of this in a hurry! You can listen to kat all day, and never get tired of her
