This girl is HUGE and I think it is safe to say she is as big as Ms. Kelly Clarkson (if not bigger). Her reactions to winning both awards, and when she won the Female vocalist of the year it was very touching because she was crying out of joy! Aw, Carrie you go girl! You're amazing and we fan are SO SO proud of you. Plus Carrie gave a totally amazing performance of her new single Before He Cheats at the begining of the award show

I also watched the CMA awards show tonight, and was so thrilled to see Carrie win two awards. She beat out some of the big stars that have been around for years!!! You go Carrie!!! We are so proud of you!!!

I don't usually watch the CMA's every year--but congratulations to Carrie for getting those. It's well-deserved, because I think she's one of the freshest and best vocalists in Country (or Pop Country) in quite a while. Though those awards must be the pointiest awards in the whole industry. Hopefully nobody accidentally sat on one. Only recently have I listened a little more carefully to Carrie's recordings and appreciating more what she's doing. Before that, I couldn't really get into her recordings too much for whatever reason. That 'Before He Cheats' is obviously a women's anthem...though it IS a compelling song that sticks into your head. It was probably wise of Carrie to go a little edgier like that considering her other material is more conservative. And, she made it edgy without going over the top. That's similar to how I think Kat will approach things. Of course, seeing Carrie win gives me visions of the future for Kat winning major music awards. It's more than vivid, because Kat's voice cries out for awards yesterday already. Though Kat's awards should be Grammys and also American Music Awards. I truly think Kat will get some Grammy noms right off her debut album rather than building up with AMA's and...yes, MTV VMA awards. It's probably more reasonable to say that Kat would build up slowly with Grammy noms on her second album...but her talent is too overwhelming to delay that thought. Kat and Carrie are probably going to be the two top voices in two different genres of music in the years ahead. So I hope they can forge a friendship rather than be competitors who never talk to one another. That duet they did together briefly on 'AI' showed they both blend well...and would be nice to have them record a single together later.
