It certainly was great, though not my personal favorite. Lyp-synching could have used a little work, though.

It's for sale on itunes.

"I think it was the summertime when I laid eyes on you. I didn't even know your name...The boy you never wanted just steals your heart..."--Kat McPhee, Love Story

"4 walls and no you. The silence in this room is so loud...wow"--Kat McPhee, I Lost You

"I didn't see the crash that burnt the bridge, didn't see the missile that sank my loveship down..."--Kat McPhee, Dangerous

"Wanting you to be wanting me, no that ain't no way to be...You never were a friend of mine..."--Kat McPhee, Over It

"No more lonely nights to hurt me, no more tears left to spare, no more reasons to be unhappy. You threw them all up in the air..."--Kat McPhee, Each Other

"Your pedicure, white-tipped French. Your legs don't make no sense...Shoes like these make me hate flats..."--Kat McPhee, Open Toes

Jordin did a terrific job with the NA,but it was a little too soulful and if in fact, it was studio-produced,that would take it out of the competition for me! I know I'm somewhat partial, but I still prefer Kat's Orange Bowl performance..live and totally nailed!!!!

I just re-watched the video and payed close attention to the lips and timing and I didn't see anything that looked off. Do they usually do the anthem pre-recorded at the SB or is it posted somewhere that she lip-synched it?

It sounds like I raised some Kat hairs by posting this but rest assured, Kat is still my #1!!  I liked this version still though

You didn't raise any hairs, 3boymom, I thought she did fantastic too.  Apparently, they do pre-record the National Anthem for the Superbowl, so I guess she did lip sync, but still it was her.  She did a glorious job on it and what symbolism too - her dad played for the New York Giants, and they won a Super Bowl Shocker!!!!  Go New York!!!

Yes, even Whitney and Mariah have done lyp-synched National Anthems. Whitney's in particular (which many consider the greatest of all time) has brought attention to this. I guess it's like the Rosebowl parade, and they just don't feel like taking chances. However, knowing this I feel it's unfair to compare a studio version to a live version.

Jordin still does a good version without it, though (the lyp-synching). Actually not that much difference from the recorded one.

Singing the anthem live would entail sound difficulties because of reverve and noise. Jordin's version on the Superbowl could have been lipped and the recorded version was on the TV feed.

Yes, singers record their versions first before Superbowls. On the event, the singer will still sing live but the TV audio feed is replaced with the recorded version. People in attendance would still hear the singing as live.

To sing for the Superbowl, you've got to be a fabulous singer - and acting is necessary too.

However, Jordin's Superbowl 42 version is one of a kind. Impressive!

Movie actors like Paul Newman, Jimmy Stewart, Humphrey Bogart, Katharine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall and Bette Davis make me want to live in the era they lived but I could have been just as inspired even now while I watch their work in films.

We also thought Jordin's performance was amazing. She seemed to be telling a story as she sang instead of just concentrating on the words and pitch. It was stunning. And it was cute how nervous she was before ans how relieved she was after.
