Interesting. This contract proves exactly what is wrong with American Idol. The line "no reason at all" is written proof of why certain contestants are randomly eliminated regardless of vocal abilities. I know that personally this information will affect the future of my American Idol interest. Thanks for posting.

Yeah, I read this back in August when my friend and I went down to San Diego so she could audition. The line about "forever and throughout the universe", or something like that, is a little out there. But I guess if we ever inhabit mars, it'll be taken care of...haha. People who audition and edvance pretty much sign their lives away.

That is almost the same as the contract that Philippine Idol handed out to it's auditioners and I must say, it's pretty much controlling and domineering..it's like you're giving your life to them and they can do whatever they want, as long as you are part of the show...

They can use anything they want, anytime they want, anyplace they want, and if that's not bad enough, did anybody catch the phrase "whether factual or fictional"?  They can make up anything they want to and you STILL can't complain about it? That's somewhere between Franz Kafka and the Guantanamo Bay detention center.

This is akin to selling one's soul to the devil! How much longer is Kat under this AI bit of totalitarianism??How many Fox lawyers did it take to come up with a document that essentially allows the show to violate the basic human rights of these contestants?The cost of potential fame is quite high!

Yeas, it's the blatant disrespect for one's basic human rights that convinces me that the Idol shows are dishonest in their claim that this is a fair singing competition.
