In a week in which CD sales slowed down once again, Daughtry sold nearly 90,000 copies, a seven percent increase from the previous week, and topped the Billboard 200 for the second time in the CD’s 15-week history. In addition, it was #6 on the Internet Album sales chart, #3 on the Digital chart, and #1 on Top Rock Albums. Daughtry has sold nearly 1.8 million copies and has been certified double-platinum status.
There was one new Idol-related CD on the charts this week. Beth Moore Presents: Songs of Deliverance which features a track by Mandisa (“My Redeemer”), debuted at #143 on the Billboard 200 and #7 on the Compilation chart. The CD was released in January, but only showed up on the charts this week when word of Mandisa’s inclusion started to get around. Not that’s the power of Idol!
TobyMac’s Portable Sounds featuring Mandisa (“Lose My Soul” with Kirk Franklin) was at #38 on the Billboard 200, and also charted on the Digital Album Sales chart (#16) and the Rock chart (#10).
Carrie Underwood’s Some Hearts jumped up three spots to #15 on the Billboard 200, and was #2 on the Country listing. In 68 weeks, the album has sold just under five million copies.
Here’s how the rest of the Idol-related albums charted this week:

Hooray for Elliott Yamin, whose first single, “Movin’ On,” has made its debut on the Hot 100 at #61 and the Pop 100 at #49. The single also charted on the Hot Digital Tracks chart (#27) and the Hot Digital Songs list (#37). Seeing Elliott’s name on all these charts really made me smile, and I know his fans are thrilled! Fantasia has a new single out as well. “When I See You” was the Hot Shot Debut on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Singles chart (#57)
Chris Daughtry’s “Home” was #83 on the Hot 100, #65
