Oh you adorable girl--You don't know how happy you make us whenever you send us a message like this! Any kind of words from you just makes our day.

We are so very proud of you;.....my staid hubby, who heretofore never KNEW what American Idol even WAS, comes over to the computer and asks "What is UP with "our Katharine" these days?". Now you are "OUR Katharine", so you have a "HeavenPOP" as well as a Heavenmom---LOL.

He is so enamored that he will be belatedly trying to get us tickets to a show..don't know if he can pull that one off, as there seem to be none available around here (Mellon Arena, or maybe Cleveland, but that is a LONG drive....). He just may try it as I have been confined to bed for most of the last 7 or 8 years with an auto-immune disease, and am now in remission.

And you, Miss Kat, have been part of "my recovery"...(of course God gets the glory), and everyone is happy to see me so excited about your success. I thought you would like to know just how much you have meant to a formerly very sick lady. Your kindness brings happy tears to my eyes, and joy to my heart.

Thank you for sending us another message.  We were all feeling sad not having much happening the last few days.  And thanks for not forgetting those of us who can't make it to your concerts!  Even if we can't get there, that doesn't mean we aren't huge fans.  It's really nice to know you don't forget us even if you can't see us in person.

Kat's sooo sweet... she always takes the time to leave us messages despite her very busy schedule.

I'll be attending the Tampa, FL concert. Our seats are way out in space o_o, but I'll try to get to meet Kat by the tour buses after the concert.

thank you so much for another message, it's so sweet of you to take time out of your busy day to write all your fans! i was so excited when i saw there was a new message from you! you are so great to all your fans! i won't be able to see you on tour this summer, which is really upsetting because i really want to see you in concert..but i hope i can see you in concert in the near future. i know you will do an awesome job at the tour & i can't wait to read other people's reviews of the show! have so fun on the tour! you are so amazing & never forget that!

I try so hard to find time to check this site and I come on the perfect day. A message from Kat always warms all of our hearts. She continues to inspire us and the love just keeps growing and growing. What a beautiful thing. I'll be seeing you Kat in Rochester and Syracuse, NY. You'll be performing on the stage I graduated on! That's crazy to think about. What a special moment that will be for me personally. Thank you for the message Kat. Wow! You just keep amazing me with your care and time for us. I don't know if you have any idea what it means to all your fans here that you keep in contact with us especially when we don't see you around for a bit. We have all got spoiled seeing you each week that it makes us miss you something fierce.

Hearing or seeing--it's all in how perceptive you are.  Besides, Kat has a great ear to cheering faces as well as music.

Kat--thanks for sending another heartfelt letter our way. I want to address this personally this time rather than my third person device at your last letter--even though we didn't know then you'd see our responses.

The time you take to write in a personal way to people is extremely appreciated--especially when there's usually a disconnect between many performers and their fanbase at this stage of the game. You're one of the truly great communicators, both in interpreting songs and through the art of writing letters. Plus, you're able to make them seem personal so it reaches out to every single person reading or listening. We're all looking forward to hearing (or reading) from you during the tour and how you'll be fighting 'the road.' I know that won't be easy if you haven't done it before, but getting your thoughts on it will be interesting. Hopefully we won't hear too much about you experiencing the tour bus running over potholes on the backroad highways.

As I said in a prior letter, I'll be seeing you and the others in Portland, OR on 9/1--and plan to wear a shirt that's as orange as I can possibly come up with to represent. Though I'll be sitting on the other side of the venue from the stage, and the Rose Garden Arena is a HUGE performing venue (21,000+ capacity). 

I don't know if I'll be able to obtain a meet and greet pass on this tour, but I know one thing: I'm just looking forward to hearing the purity and styling of your voice live. Hearing it echoing inside the confines of the Rose Garden Arena will be the ultimate in the live experience. And, based on some (unconfirmed) leaks of what your concert program will be, your song choices are going to be excellent. This will be just the beginning (I hope) of you progressing to doing successful solo concert tours in the years ahead that I'll be definitely attending.

Thanks again for your time in communicating to everybody. You stand alone in your principles as a well-known citizen of the world and human being. Keep that rarity in this business, because you're making a difference.

Kat,

You never cease to amaze me. When I think I've seen the best of you, you just come out and do something even MORE amazing. You just get better and better. Thank you for taking time from your uber busy schedule and sending us a note. I CAN'T wait to see you on tour and experience your addicting personality and breathtaking abilities for the second time (I first saw you when I attended an Idol rehearsal, it was Queen night). I get chills everytime you sing and to hear you live is just really a moment that I can truly cherish. From your first Idol audition in Cow Palace in San Francisco, you mentioned that you wanted to be able to "reach people" and "touch" them with your music. Well, Ms. McPhee, you've certainly done just that, even more than you could possibly imagine.

HAVE A GREAT TIME at the tour and the very best of luck with everything! Just always keep in mind, the McPhans are behind you all the way.
