Some of these were posted on the Graceland site, but they're new to me.  Others were personal fan pics I discovered.

A dressed-down Paula Abdul does double duty as official AI photographer at Graceland.

 

Everyone has seen this picture before, but I'm posting it because I found it interesting to see pictures of what was happening behind Kat at this moment.

Priscilla was signing autographs while Kat made out with the horses (as Kat herself described).  She's giving a lot of attention to the tan horse in these, even though the original pic is of the dark brown horse.

 

The anvil has been fully digested.

^You'd think that scared little girl was on the lap of some scary Santa Claus or something. That's unusual for a little girl to not be anything but happy when being around Kat--but childhood minds play up unusual fears sometimes.

Oh, and I believe that's Elvis back there sporting a wig and fake moustache...after just leaving his Burger King shift in downtown Memphis. Looks like he's taking one of those self-guided tours of his own home.

Those are real interesting, Steve--and I've only seen maybe half of them from various sources since May. Thanks for digging those up. Kat's beauty presented in an outdoor environment like that was something that needed to be seen at that stage of the competition.

This was basically the first time we saw Kat outside the confines of 'AI'--and her interactivity with various people there really didn't get chronicled as much as it should have in the initial photographs we saw. Thankfully, private photos enable us to see more than what the press (and 'AI') wanted people to see. It looks to me that Kat had more photo-ops than Taylor got. The initial perception was that Taylor was considered the reborn Elvis to all the people waiting at the gates. Well, maybe that's what was told to that little girl who wanted to meet the reborn Elvis instead.

If horses could talk--I think they'd have a lot to say after that day interacting with Kat. And I have a feeling they'd also say: "What's up with Priscilla's hair?"

Mutt, thanks for finding these great pics of natural beauty, Kat.

Your phab pics made me want to see more and I found this vid of the Idols at Graceland.  Did you see this. Kat is so cute in it.

I just watched the video and it was great!  Kat was so sweet to the fans and she's just really great to everybody and looks BEAUTIFUL outside.  The pics are great too.  I like this one
She just looks so naturally beautiful and its great how in this pic she is so so free to roam around.  I like how she is smiling happily, taking a stroll, hair blowing in the breeze.  It a really great shot of Katharine. I love it!

Dang if i was that lil girl n i looked back at the moment id slap myself and be like what is wrong with me.. Well we all know for sure that our one and only Katharine Mcphee loves any animals she can find. It is nice to see that Katharine is having a good time with elliot.. Nice to know because i know that her and taylor bumped heads a lot.

Good to see Katharine likes to kiss horses, too.  We know she kisses three forms of life at the moment.  Horses, Dogs and Humans.  Do we have more?

And you know I'd never thought about Elliott's name before.  I bet he gets a lot of just Elliot...I just don't pay any attention to it.

^I've always liked those shots from this series of Graceland pics--because it shows Kat being her true beautiful  and natural self.  I remember when those first showed up on the Elvis website in May--and everybody tried to scramble to find a download of that Fox 13 piece that apparently Kat participated in. I don't remember ever seeing it though, but Kat obviously played the role of reporter for a few minutes while talking to Elliott (and the others). This also showed that she and Elliott had a great brother and sister type of bond that didn't seem to show itself that much during the tour. Of course, we didn't see them every minute. Nevertheless, there's few pics of them being that close during the tour.  I think they all bonded better during that time when the Final Four were under a lot more pressure...and all in it together. The tour was more about forming their own careers.

As we all know, this was Kat's first real exposure to fans outside the realms of 'AI'--and I remember a few people from the 'AI' board went there at the last minute. One of them managed to talk to Kat considerably and got her autograph. (Remember JCSorrels?) Maybe some of these pics were from him, because I think he said he took photos but couldn't post them due to 'AI' rules.

Yes, the press wanted to create the idea that Taylor was the one everybody wanted to see at Graceland. But I think we can see evidence here that Kat had a lot more interest (at least in the press) than initially reported. In fact, her southern fanbase I think is much bigger than the immediate assumptions. I think even Elvis would have endorsed Kat over Taylor. And if they covered up the fact that he came out from under his bed upstairs to join everybody during rehearsals at that event...it only proves that point more.
