One congressman in Calfornia has already started a bill against the paparrazi. I hope there would be a law on this regard. Britney Spears ought to be left alone as well. My simple suggestion/solution is:. Fine or censure the publications that would publish photos that would be classified as invasion of privacy. The question is, Where does freedom of speech and freedom of the press begin and end? There has to be a state that should start off with a certain kind of law for censorship against the paparazzi, then it can be applied nationally. It looks like California should be the first state to have it implimented. Then Hawaii must follow. Ordinary people and celebrities alike should be allowed to live their normal lives as normal as possible without being photo/video "subjects" or "headliners" - against their will or without due authorization.
So what would this law stop considering the world isn't just magazines anymore. Can you really stop anybody from posting pictures on the Internet. Maybe they are talking about putting a stop on being able to pay photographers for this stuff but how would they do that? Can you really throw someone in jail for taking a picture of someone walking down the street and then selling it? If someone wants to buy it...
Isn't that what our "free society" is about? I don't know. I'm all for restrictions on the crazy type of paparazzi you'll see that surround Britney Spears and cause a legitimate security risk to all involved...especially when they are following her around town in her car causing traffic disturbances and such. But...I guess I'd have to see exactly what kind of rules they'd be placing on all of this before I could say yes or no to something like that.
We've had the discussion here...so it's OK to post a picture a fan takes of Katharine but not one a paparazzi takes? What difference does it make who took the picture? Because the pap gets money for it?
And the "against their will" thing...at least in Katharine's case, particularly when she's in LA, she can go in and out of pap zones when she wants. She knows what she's doing. Now, for bigger celebs it's much trickier because they get followed but...I'm just not so sure how they could legislate this.
I should add....KAT'S HOME! Time to get to work on album #2! Yep, yep!
Hi everyone! Just stopping in to say hi. Hope Kat gets busy again soon. Missing all the Kat news.
