Now that they’ve landed and settled in, Katharine McPhee and husband Nick Cokas embarked on a little Honeymoon fun throughout the day on Monday, Feb.4th
The newlyweds, who opted to spend their romantic getaway in the tropical setting of Oahu, Hawaii, headed out for a little shopping at the local Gucci store.
beautiful pics but i wish the papparazzi and everyone would leave them alone to enjoy there honeymoon
Cool! Thank you Minnie for the post
Old Fogy
It would be nice if the papparazzi would respect their privacy, but unfortunately that goes with the life of being a celebrity. If it bothers them too much, I'm sure they could call store security or other law enforcement if they get out of control. Apparently, Katharine doesn't seem to mind so much as she's waving away at the cameras. I have to laugh because boy does that girl love to shop and such high dollar taste, "Oh Kat, quit being so high-flautin'!"
Can we get a video to go with that? I think Katharine's getting a lot of press because Brittney's in lockdown, what are the paparrazzi doing with all their free time??
It is sad, though, that celebs get almost zilch for privacy - poor Jennifer Love Hewitt was innocently swimming and they snapped her pics and posted them all over the internet about how she's getting fat, etc. But JLH fought back and I applaud her for it, as Tyra Banks.
Unfortunately, we live in cruel times where people thrive on gossip and dirt and they feel they can post the most mean-spirited comments ever. It's hard for some of us to understand twisted minds and mean people because we aren't like them. But, as far as voyeuristic type pics being posted of Katharine/Nick being romantic - I really don't want to see them. Kat better behave while in public because she just loves to show PDA to her hubby, Nicholas Constantine. I would just yell at her, "Kat! Please get a room!!!"
1. Nick holding Kat's hand to guide her safely down the stairs in those "open toes" Incredibly cavalier (one having the spirit or bearing of a Knight; a courtly gentleman) IMO usually seen moreso with older men who have more life experiences
2. Cuuuuute dress!
3. Kat hugging Nick from behind while he buys his new bride a treat!
Oahu, Hawaii -- the number one place in the world to honeymoon
Gucci -- my kind of store
Nick -- I'm jealous of Kat, Nick looks so responsible and protective, and rich, and cute!
Kat -- Just having a swell time away from it all. I wonder if Kat has been to Oahu before this, maybe, as a child with her family.
More paps pics? I like to see what they eat and where?
This has nothing to do with the ethics of paparazzi and their work. It's just about me. Asking me what I think about candids taken without the knowledge or consent of the subject, when the subject is Katharine, is almost like asking a smoker what they think about cigarettes.
I can have the rottenest day imaginable, and for whatever reason, just looking at her walking around doing nothing (or more likely buying shoes or jewelry) makes me feel better. She fills my brain with the awfullest cliche's - breath of fresh air, ray of sunshine - and makes me remember lines from poems I haven't read since I was a kid. "What immortal hand or eye, Could frame thy fearful symmetry?" I know, Blake was talking about a much different kind of creature, but still, he knew that there is a kind of beauty that can just stop you in your tracks and take your breath away, and it goes so far past the simplicity of the flesh that you almost need new words to express it.
Sure, I appreciate the glossy hair and those endless legs, but there is a whole spirit about her that fairly pops out of her pictures. She's like the epitome of vibrant youth and promise waiting to be fulfilled and music to be made and love to be shared. Yeah, that's a weighty mantle to fling over such young shoulders, but that's the way she is, or the way I see her. And I will never understand some of the words I read from people who seem to see something so vastly different from that when they look at the same person. It seems so obvious to me. Maybe it isn't.
I don't think she's perfect, any more than a believer thinks a priest is perfect because he sometimes becomes the medium through which Godhood descends to earth. Katharine has become a kind of focal point for people's dreams, a symbol of something, like a flag, or a chalice. To me, it's no more intrusive or irreverent to watch her walking through a garden than it is to watch the tigers strolling through their enclosures at the zoo. I watch, I keep silent, and I'm thankful for what I was allowed to see.

I'm speechless, and I'm longing to read more. Groucho, I know you need not join the paparazzi to feel this way because you even don't need to record it on paper. The mind is such a terrible thing to waste. Thank God for poets like you. YOU GO, Groucho!!
Groucho, your name is exceeded only by the beauty and eloquence of your words here. BRAVO from a fan!!
wow, you get a -A+, great writing, man, you are hooked with the mcpheever!
Billy Joel wrote it, Nick borrowed and sang it, and I just kind of rephrased it in my own words. He couldn't have picked a more perfect song. He didn't know it, but he was speaking for a lot of us.
She comes to me when I'm feelin' down Inspires me without a sound She touches me and I get turned around She's got a light around her And everywhere she goes A million dreams of love surround her Everywhere
Okay, that's sentimental enough. The funniest part was when she said her dad said he was happy to give her away and the first thing I thought was "Take 'er, take 'er, she's been driving me nuts for 23 years! Now somebody else can worry about her!"
I would just be content with writing narratives or poetry - if I have to abide with the law against invasion of privacy - on photographs.
It's an unfortunate situation when some people could think they could make money through photographs out of people that make big money by way of - voyeurisms - which some people think is a form of blackmail. To me, it's more than blackmail. If you're the target, you are only being used to make a sensational news that many people (including me?) like to feed on -- gossip -- and which various publications make good money on. It's money driven craze! This has got to stop; I agree- in principle!!
The honeymoon photos, to me, are not that too classified, but still could fall under invasion of privacy. But how do we know or not know when celebrities authorize or not? How do we know if they are photo hungry or not? Or if they do or don't have a photographer with them all the time? I believe if the private personal life and freedom of a celebrity/person is in danger or threatened or maliciously exposed, then I think, in principle, invasion of privacy has been committed against them. There has to be a law that should uphold that right and it must be enforced!!
The wedding pictures were allegedly authorized.
One congressman in Calfornia has already started a bill against the paparrazi. I hope there would be a law on this regard. Britney Spears ought to be left alone as well. My simple suggestion/solution is:. Fine or censure the publications that would publish photos that would be classified as invasion of privacy. The question is, Where does freedom of speech and freedom of the press begin and end? There has to be a state that should start off with a certain kind of law for censorship against the paparazzi, then it can be applied nationally. It looks like California should be the first state to have it implimented. Then Hawaii must follow. Ordinary people and celebrities alike should be allowed to live their normal lives as normal as possible without being photo/video "subjects" or "headliners" - against their will or without due authorization.
