That's exciting news! Thanks Amanda. Boy, Kat is sure busy. Has she even had a week off to vacation since AI? It's a good thing she likes to work so hard.
It's a drama...wonder what it's about. Regardless, it's good to know she's gone more things in the works (possibly). Not that this is a surprise but...so what's this mean in would be shot in Philadelphia? I think I read that right.
Anyway...and from that description it sounds like she'd be the lead female character which is cool.
The movie with Anna Farris that she finished shooting not long ago is supposed to be release this Spring.
this would be a big plus for her, so I hope she takes the role
The good thing is that this appears to be a legitimate movie, and Kat hasn't accepted, yet. Maybe she's getting offers for even better roles/movies, and she can afford to be choosy about the projects she takes on. Although the talk about state tax credits expiring means she'll have to shoot it in the spring, or not at all. But I wish we would hear more buzz about the new album (collaborators, song lyrics, producers, etc.).
It'll delay it indefinitely--especially if the directors and actors go on strike next June as predicted. And if the writers are still striking then (probably unlikely)--then all of Hollywood is in shut-down mode until producers get off their couches loaded with their millions under the cusions and realize how important the net is for the future of residuals.
Yes, we writers are passionate about this--even if freelancers aren't part of the Guild.
This sounds like a promising movie project for Kat--and I'm especially glad that Kat's focusing somewhat on indie features. Even so, it's ironic that her first film in the can now was right from the Hollywood system rather than an indie. You'd think the indie features would get the green light first before something like "IKWBL", but such is the mystery of the Hollywood green and red light.
Obviously, we have to keep in mind that this is probably overly tentative again. We're learning that it's too easy to get excited when we hear about Kat possibily being in a film adaptation of "Success" or some other big-deal project. The reality is that most of them probably won't happen for various reasons. Even "The Last Caller" has been put on hold (maybe because of the emerging strike). We can only hope they're being put into limbo for a script rewrite. In the indie world, maybe...but certainly not in the main Hollywood system.
If nothing else, we can see ample evidence here now that a lot of A-list actors, directors and producers want to work with Kat in something. It's just bad timing, though, that Kat's film career had to start during a tumultuous time in Tinseltown.
The writers strike definitely has an impact on all of Hollywood. Appearances and acting roles all are on hold. It would be great if they ended that strike soon for Kat and everyone else
It's not like she's doing these things by herself. They already said she's got a wedding planner...I'm guessing this movie will take 4-6 weeks to shoot...and she's going to have 2-3 times as much time to record this album as the last one. I hardly see a problem.
