All of the personal appearances will be in February most likely. The new TV season will have started and our girl is keeping most of her songs under wraps until the CD is released. What we need right now is a video to go with OI. That will push it up the charts and encourage more album sales until she is booked for personal appearances.

 

There is an unconfirmed rumor that she will appear on The Jimmy Kimmel Show February 7th.  Anyone know about this?

I just checked on the site to get tickets to Jimmy Kimmel and sure enough, it says Katharine will be there Wednesday Feb 7th. For those who want tickets, the site is www.1iota.com and you must be there at 6:15pm

It's a good thing but I wish Kat would be making some TV appearances sooner too. Her numbers on Amazon are starting to slip a bit and I'd like to know when all those other appearances, like Leno and Regis, are going to be rescheduled. Miss seeing Kat on TV lately!

A couple more things after reading the rest of the thread.  Typically, music guests perform in the 8:30-9 a.m. time slot.  Depends how much time they are getting how close to 9 a.m. they'll be.  Hopefully Katharine will get to sing twice with an interview in between.  Hopefully.



Based on my viewings of how they do that Concert Series--they show the first performance live at 8:30 (obviously taped delayed on the west coast))--but then tape a second number they withhold until the last few minutes of the show. So those of you watching on TV that morning, don't assume Kat's all done after the first song--because they ALWAYS have a performer sing twice. It's all a ratings game...and they make you see the taped second performance right at the end. Just go take a break and come back around ten or five to 9 (or is it 10?) to see that final performance. The final song used to be right before 10 when 'Today' was three hours, but I think they cut back to two hours again recently.

What I always find interesting is hearing the experiences of the people who camp out all night for front-row seats at these events. They get to see Kat out there before the sun even comes up rehearsing. We saw photos of that last summer when she performed there then. Everybody's usually extremely groggy during those rehearsals, so it's not an easy gig. But it'll be well-worth it again. Kat singing two songs on 'Today' is one of the best promotional things she could do. That alone will move her about twenty places up the charts that day...unless she's already #2 and she goes to -19.

I hope Kat sings 'BOA' as her second number. We won't have to worry about it being cut off either--because it's taped from the earlier performance set as I said. They make sure it'll fit into a five minute window there at the end to keep you watching.

Overall, a live performance set of 'Over It' and 'BOA' that morning will bring a result as good as anything you could imagine.

Actually...when Kellie Pickler was on the Today show she only got to sing once and it was in the last 10 minutes of the show.  But I think it was all done live.  No taped performance.  Chris & Taylor got to sing twice on Good Morning America.  Not sure if Today just did that because Kellie was "only" sixth place or...not sure.  And Kellie sang inside too.  Apparently, Katharine will be outside unless the weather is bad.



When Kat and Taylor were on 'Today' last summer, Kat only sang 'OtR' as we know--and then Taylor got to do two numbers. The final pre-taped one was his version of 'TittS' (can you say that song acronym here?)--with Michael Orland accompanying him on the piano as he did Kat.

Now that Kat's there by herself, I'm sure she'll get two songs to perform. For an artist with as much buzz as she's getting, 'Today' will want to promote her. Besides, they love her there. Frequently, 'Today' helps worthy artists who have a debut album out get on the bestseller charts. They did that for Michael Buble's debut album several years ago...and it jumped up to the top of charts immediately that day! There's been others too that I have to research.

I guarantee that Kat's album will zoom up at least Amazon's charts later that day after her 'Today Show' appearance. It seems more people watch that in the morning than anything else or even primetime shows (except 'AI' itself). It's the best TV audience she could hope for other than maybe Leno. And it seems to indicate that NBC gets the most viewers (outside of cable)--which is bizarre considering they're in the ratings toilet of late.

It'll be interesting to see who Kat's backup band will be this time. She's going to need some new musicians to provide the much different sound for her new songs. I doubt Michael Orland on the piano would work too well...though you never know I guess. Kat did 'Open Toes' a cappella in an amazing way on that Las Vegas radio station. Hearing 'OI' whittled down to a basic piano accompaniment would be interesting. Though I doubt that'll happen.

Yes, I think Kellie only got one song on 'Today' because they initially didn't expect her to do well. Since then, that had to be re-assessed obviously.
