Subject: advertising?

When are we going to see TV commercials featuring your products with Katharine McPhee? You got a great spokesperson to represent the Sexy Hair line.

Thank You

There answer to me
We currently have no plans to advertise on television. We will, however, be taking part in more Consumer Magazine advertising in ’07. Allure and Cosmopolitan to name a few.

Thank You,

My guess would be that while I would love to see it happen, if this product has been around for a while, it would take something big to make them switch over to a new media outlet... however Kat may prove popular enough to do that, especially once her CD hits the U.S. big time!

With a lot of people having 16x9 digital TV's now--there's plenty of room to showcase Big & Sexy hair.

That's surprising BSH doesn't want to get on TV to advertise when TV is still the best marketing source available in the land. Forget internet marketing as everybody thought it would be by now. A simple old TV is still how people get interested (or maybe in some cases, hoodwinked) into buying a product. If 'AI' was only one of those internet TV shows that were in vogue for a while (I think that Ed McMahon talent show Kat appeared on once was an internet-only show)--Kat probably wouldn't have formed the fanbase she currently has. TV carved out a huge fanbase for her plain and simple. BSH should take heed.

Well, BSH probably figured that their potential users are more apt to scan the mags they advertise in. Also, they're already a multi-million dollar company--even before Kat came in to represent them. They're just taking it to the next level now. But if they want to capture mainstream America to their products--they better get on TV. Having Kat in a commercial will make everybody stop what they're doing to look too. Most people are sick of Geico ads (drop the caveman bit, please ) and all the other usuals that we just tune out now. Occasionally, you'll get a commercial that captures your attention. Kat would do just that--especially if she's singing in the ad.

There you go--Kat promoting her album and BSH all in one TV ad if they'd let her. Just with the mag ads, though, I think Kat's given people a new appreciation of pumpkin...and never realizing that putting it in your hair is beneficial.

By the way, in that other article about BSH, I see the CEO's name is Jim Morrison. That was the lead singer of The Doors, wasn't it? And I thought Michael O'Rourke was the company's CEO (who picked Kat)--but I guess he's some other title.

Interesting thing about TV ads these days....with the growing nature of TiVo in America...I wonder if TV ads are really the way to go anymore.  I know I don't see half of the ads on television because I intentionally delay or record everything so I can watch things quickly without commercials interruption.  I know I'm not the only one.

So maybe BSH things it's a waste of money to do TV ads.  More people may see their magazine ads and it's cheaper.  I'm sure they've done the research on this.

We know all about Allure & Cosmo.  They've already been in those.  People Magazine, too!

"I saw Katharine McPhee when there were about 12 contestants left on American Idol. She blew me away. I loved her grace, her style, her poise, her voice and her hair! I wanted her to be the face of Sexy Hair because she represented everything that I had in my head for the brand: youth, beauty, talent, class, a young sophistication, and sexiness." -- Jim Morrison, CEO of Sexy Hair Products.
