Thanks to zembla at IDF

http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/484144p-407347c.html

First of it uses a picture of Katharine to illustrate the whole article, which is it's musical pics for 2007.

Say's this about K:

Luckily, we don't need a crystal ball to report the arrival of a host of albums and concerts people will spend some time listening to and/or arguing about in the first blush of 2007.

Here's a sneak peek:

An American Idol out to prove it in the studio:

Katharine McPhee: The self-titled, and much delayed, debut from Idol 5's first runnerup finally (!) arrives Jan. 30.

No other Idols are mentioned.

It is the NY Daily News, but still, someone over there likes him some Kat.

Yeah, the arguing part is what will probably be part of the fanbase's first blush (if not a stroke) in 2007.

Thanks, Simon, for the article--though I initially shuddered to read when it said NY Daily News picked Katharine for something. But I guess they're fairly astute in realizing that Kat's CD will probably get a lot of talk (and arguments on message boards) starting in February. I'm ready to rebut at places like Amazon's testy board if I have to. Though I won't if it's just a dumb-logic type of situation. Someone who runs at the mouth with no basis in facts aren't even worth replying to. Constructive criticism is the only way to get a logical debate going that can extend beyond calling someone a moron.

What I'm looking forward to are the logical reviews of Kat's album--especially from the big names. Rolling Stone's interview is one of the most important, of course. If they don't like it, then I'll be shocked. Though I don't think everybody bases their buying based on reviews anymore. As an example: Some  movies doing well that got bad reviews certainly has stuck it to a lot of influential film critics in recent years.

McPheever will also be found in English Dictionary or maybe Dorland Medical Dictionary?
Kat McPhee once said
"This is just like moments in time. It's not your life. I come home to a place with my dog and it's very normal. I Give back all my big jewels"
"But the People really know me, know How Silly i am"

What can one say about Katharine's future? This is wonderful promotion for the anticipation of the drop of this CD. At least they are reminding people of its existance and creating enough interest to prompt people to at least give it a chance. I don't recall similar anticipation for Tay's CD, except from Soul Patrol.....

Why would that be?  Because people (fairly or unfairly) view Taylor has a "one-hit wonder" with his hit being Idol.  That might be untrue and totally unfair but I think it's true.  Katharine, on the other hand, is viewed as the next big thing because she's got it all.  Now, she might not be.  Who knows?  But I think the media is assuming that and treating her thusly.  Plus, this January 30th thing...despite having to wait...was a brilliant idea.  She's going to get so much more attention this way.  Plus, Idol running all of these ads lately (especially the Kat-centric) one is great to keep her fresh in everyone's minds.

"I saw Katharine McPhee when there were about 12 contestants left on American Idol. She blew me away. I loved her grace, her style, her poise, her voice and her hair! I wanted her to be the face of Sexy Hair because she represented everything that I had in my head for the brand: youth, beauty, talent, class, a young sophistication, and sexiness." -- Jim Morrison, CEO of Sexy Hair Products.
