I got this off of www.katharinemcpheever.org According to this R&B blog, Kat's first single is either going to be "Open Toes" or a song called "Somebody". Katharine McPhee's debut album has been pushed back to January 2007, according to MTV News. Kat is working with Ryan Leslie (Cassie, Danity Kane), Danja (Jeannie Ortega, Nelly Furtado) and Kara DioGaurdi (Paris Hilton, Ashlee Simpson). The first single will either be "Open Toes" or "Somebody". Thanks to Chopper of IDF for finding this info!

I hope we get a leak of SOMEBODY before the first single is released cause then that could help us decide what we like better and it would be easier to promote her to people ( if we have the 2 possible singles to spread around ) dontchathink?

do we have any information about what type of song Somebody is? I think many girls will take to open toes but I worry about how it will be perceived.

If you read this blog, it doesn't necessarily look legit. It may be if he has some sort of inside info but he makes a blanket statement without anything to back it up. He references the MTV article but we all read that and know it doesn't call out any particular songs as potential singles.

I thought the song was called "Somehow" not "Somebody". At least that's what that MTV/VH1 article said. And "Somehow" is produced by Ryan Leslie. Wasn't "Open Toes" by Ryan Leslie as well? I guess he's the one for the first single. "Open Toes" makes the most sense to me. Maybe our "present" is a sample of "Somehow". And she'll see how we like it and maybe we'll get to vote on the two of them to decide the single. And the note on Kara DioGuardi. Shouldn't they use Kelly Clarkson as a reference....just wondering. That's a little more impressive anyway. How will "Open Toes" be received? As a fun, catchy song...sure some will make fun of it. So what? If you've heard all the stuff on the radio these days...singing about finding the right pair of open-toed shoes to wear with your hot outfit...that's pretty brilliant. I actually listened to that "Air Force Ones" song the other day. That's a rap guy version of "Open Toes". I'd heard the song before but never really listened to the lyrics. Interesting how she didn't mention "Over It" and...it's not being considered for the single. Maybe Katharine doesn't like what they did with it. It is sorta overproduced. Maybe the Ashley Tisdale thing caused them to yank it. Who knows?
