Don't forget, when you're a producer it doesn't necessarily mean you have real involvement with the project.  Celebrities do it all the time--look at Oprah with The Color Purple musical on Broadway.  It's more--lending your name so that notariety comes to the project.

...What do you mean it's not a done deal. It is.  o___O

Second...what does her not being on the tour yet have to do with this piece of news?  Dude, what are you TALKING about?

Yeah, it's official... redherringplay.com lists her name as one of the producers... alongside of course, her beau! Cute... as long as she's still touring though I say more power to her!

Thanks to sunoftheskye and Moposh for posting the articles here in Buzz.

I have a feeling Kat's been possibly doing some co-producing work on this in NYC...and it won't affect her touring any. She was spotted in NY recently and is probably there doing some other work in addition to this. And, undoubtedly, Nick's taught her some insides of the producing business...because he has an indie film company where the art of producing is a must. She's probably learning that producers do EVERYTHING when putting a project together. So she's probably glad she has a 'Co-' next to her producer title to keep from going insane.

Hopefully we'll all get to see this play if it becomes more popular down the road. It sounds like it's too unconventional for mainstream Broadway, though, but you never know. I wish the mainstream would embrace more intellectual and creatively risky works like this--but Broadway is all corporate now. They want things they can guarantee will bring in an audience. If you want real creativity--you have to go off-Broadway (or off, off, off, off...) to see it. But things in that area can also go off the deep end in avant-garde territory. At least this play keeps things real...yet sounds like a unique staging in how the characters interact. The themes it explores also sound like issues that aren't explored enough in writing.

Well, this is certainly no left field work either when you see the cast involved. All of the cast are top Broadway actors--so maybe it could make it to Broadway in another year or so. If Kat and Nick retain their producer titles then, they could have a hit play on Broadway and get Tony's just for that.

But I'm just happy to see Kat so interested in straight-ahead plots and acting showcases like this. We usually equate her with musical theatre, even though she obviously has an acute mind in scoping out good non-musical drama and plots.
