Hi guys I read an article and Nigel Lythgoe was interviewed in it and he says that Katharine will return to Idol this year!
"This time around, the show will redirect attention to the finalists and bring back alums such as McPhee and season-two winner Ruben Studdard during results shows to keep fans abreast of what they're up to, Lythgoe said. There will be a new set to spice up a tried-and-true format."

If she does appear on idol, alot of the credit goes to the kit kat project
The final results shows are a long way off, so I would expect by then Kat would have something hot going

If it happens, I'm all for it. You can't let previous snubs stand in your way. Like the old saying goes..."any publicity is good publicity".... especially when dealing with the numbers of people that view "Idol". People that may not have liked her in the past, or unfamiliar with her, will be able to see her out of the "contestant" role. This could lead to very good things for her.
I believe this is something we'll never find out, there may have been some friction with Kat changing her management right after her CD came out that ticked off the AI brass; however, the AI folks know Katharine is well liked, and I do believe our voices were heard. I know even fans of other AI contestants from Season 5 were wondering where Katharine was and why she was shunned, but let's move on from last season . . . I'm glad she will be returning and I'd love to hear her sing something on "Idol Gives Back Night," that's a ratings killer nite and she could sing "Reach out and Touch Somebody's Hand," or "What the World Needs Now is Love," anything would be awesome for that night. She also may have some new music in the works by April/May that she could perform, bottom line - she'll be back, but they better have Taylor, Ace, Blake and Bucky carry her out on Princess' cart (I don't know what you call those things) and give her everything she wants on her rider. They definitely need to make it up to her, basically it was a slam not only to Katharine but also to the millions of people who voted for her, so get with the program Nigel Lythgoe and Simon Fuller!!
Kat better come back this year because they are inviting that OBNOXIOUS Blake Lewis! His cd sales were not good and his single didn't even make the Hot 100!
Nigel mentioned Kat & Ruben and they said last night that Ruben is doing something for Idol once the Top 12 starts sooooo....*hope* *hope* it would be really nice to see Katharine on that stage again. Especially if they are inviting back Blake. That's ridiculous if Blake gets to come back this year and Katharine is still left out in the cold.
I think so, too. Maybe Kat will come as a surprise. But they must let her be on the show this year, I've read that news a couple of months ago already too. Yaaayyy.
