Thanks to IDF/Katpack15

The “Scary Movie” actress is hard at work on what is now called “I Know What Boys Like,” formerly known as “House Bunny.” Produced by Adam Sandler and his Happy Madison production team, the film co-stars Katharine McPhee, Emma Stone and Colin Hanks.

Faris stars in the film as Shelley, a Hugh Hefner bunny who gets tossed out of the fabled Playboy mansion and ends up getting a job as a house mother to the lamest sorority on a nearby college campus. Now leading the Zeta Alpha Zeta chicks, Shelley must help the seven socially inept gals from losing their house. In true “Legally Blonde” fashion (the script is written by “Blonde” masterminds Karen McCullah Lutz & Kirsten Smith), Shelley uses her eternally bubbly attitude to hatch a plan that could save the day while simultaneously teaching each of them about the importance of being true to oneself.

McPhee is playing a pregnant hippie in the film, while Hanks has been cast as Faris’ love interest. The film also features Monet Mazur (”Torque”) as a sadistic Playboy bunny, All-American Rejects singer Tyson Ritter as a fraternity guy, newcomer Owen Benjamin as a butler, Beverly D’Angelo as a competing house mother and Rachel Specter (”Lonely Hearts”) as a rival sorority sister.

Rounding out the cast are Kat Dennings (”The 40-Year-Old Virgin”), Dana Goodman (”Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo”), Rumer Willis (”Hostage”), Kiely Williams (”The Cheetah Girls”) and all three of “The Girls Next Door”: Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt.

Directed by former “Saturday Night Live” writer Fred Wolf, the comedy is targeting a 2008 release. And judging by the already-leaked photos of Faris and friends dressed up like Jessica Simpson wannabes, the actresses seem to know exactly “What Boys Like.”

Was the song I Know What Boys Like the inspiration for the title change? Are they thinking of using it in the movie? Questions...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=bo0vc3Q3F-k

Good song (for what it is), terrible title (it kinda sounds like Kat Does Kollege). It's catchy and would make great background music for something, maybe when introducing you to the girls, who obviously don't seem to know what anybody likes--or play it straight and use it for bg music after everyone has been made over and actually do look like maybe they know what boys like. Except it would be kind of blatant for an obviously pregnant girl to be strutting around to that.

Oh what the heck, it could change again a half dozen times. I just liked House Bunny.

And don't you just love that Katharine gets close-to-top billing when people are discussing the movie?

Really? Personally, I like the new title better, and based on title alone, I think it will interest more ticket buyers.

So, you know the Hannah Montana version, eh Groucho? Very hip of you I must say. I only found the Hannah video after finding the original one by The Waitresses from the 80s that I actually vaguely remembered.

I ws thinking it would be great if they played this at one of their "loser girls" parties before the makeover and the girls are all vamping it up and dancing around especially Katharine with her pregnant belly taking the lead on the vocal

Yeah, we both had the same thought on that. Let us hope movie makers are as creative and funny as us

Catchy tune......it would be terrific if Kat could sing that song on the soundtrack and/or in the Bunny House!!I can picture Kat,with her babybump, trying to do clutzy dance moves to this upbeat number....that would be such an opportunity for some hilarious physical comedy!! Kat is such a natural comedienne, she'd easily improvise some slapstick dancing and funny facial expressions!!

The new title is very campy and, judging by Anna's tacky shoes, it is a campy film. The song can be updated by singing it with a bit more attitude.

I found this in my Google Alerts and then someone quoted it on IDF. I actually had no idea who was doing the song. Somebody posted a link and I followed it out of curiosity. I still think it's a lousy movie title. House Bunny may sound stupid but the other sounds cheap.

I loved Beverly D'Angelo in those Vacation movies, and I've been sucked into watching the Girls Next Door on more than one occasion. Hopefully Hef's girlfriends get some juicy parts in this. This movie sounds like a female version of Revenge of the Nerds. Rumer Willis seems to fit - the first time I saw her, I thought she was a guy in drag. Too bad they can't get the movie out earlier. When does shooting wrap? I hope Kat goes back to singing soon.

Makes me think of a cross between Debbie Does Dallas and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Oh no...that gives connotations of having this film locked away in a special cabinet at your local video store. Well, I guess the chains thankfully don't even do that anymore...

I have to agree that any film that talks about "what boys like" is going to connotate some slightly prurient things in a person's mind--especially in the culture we're living in. But because we're living in an overly sexualized society of late...it's not all that surprising to me that they changed the title. I wouldn't worry all that much, however. Most movies go through several movie title changes before settling on one that makes the most sense and is the most marketable. I'm willing to bet money the final title won't be this title. The title isn't all that marketable and just sounds like a movie on the Playboy Channel.

I think we've all seen films go through development phases--and title changes can happen half-a-dozen times. And, of course, this is beyond Kat's control. You kind of hate to see her first movie title in her someday filmography being "I Know What Boys Like." It's the material that counts, though, and we know this must be an interesting character piece in order for Kat to take it on. I'm guessing they'll eventually come up with a title that makes it accessible to everybody. That, particularly when you know the talent behind this project.

In a way, I'm glad they did away with that "House Bunny" title too. That was just as bad in my mind. Actually, high-profile films in production should probably just say "Title to be Determined" when the press gets wind of these things. When they do--it can create misconceptions about what the project is about when working titles are part of the process...

While I prefer "House Bunny", it doesn't make much difference to me. Although maybe Kat will get the chance to cover "I Know What Boys Like" on the movie soundtrack if that's the final title.

Just a thought: If Katharine and the Girls Next Door hit it off, we may be seeing Kat at the Playboy Mansion pretty often. Holly, Bridget, and Kendra also have boutique dogs, and Kat could bring over her collection for some doggie get-togethers.

The title doesn't really matter much to me. "I Know What Boys Like" puts a chick flick aura around the movie. Does anyone remember "Where The Boys Are? That film had no problem being successful.

yeah, I remember Where The Boys Are. That's not nearly as suggestive a title. As I said, I'd prefer her first movie have a title that sounds silly to one that sounds sleazy. Even mildly so. I don't know how much it matters, though. It's like wishing they'd used the ILY/Dangerous cover for her full CD instead of Miss Bumblebee. I know I'm nitpicking, there's nothing I can do about it, and it doesn't really matter at this point anyway.
