American Idol runner up Katharine McPhee is making her pick for this year's champion. The contest is now down to the finals and it is Jordin Sparks, 17, versus Blake Lewis, 25, are the two finalists will be given one more chance to strut their stuff on Tuesday night. Simon Cowell won't predict a winner. But Kat will say who she is pulling for.

Blake Lewis has been dubbed as this year's Katharine McPhee as many believe the only reason he is still around and Melinda Doolittle was voted off was because of his gender and the votes he got for being the last man standing. That was the argument for Kat last season as she stood stunned on the stage as both Chris Daughtry and Elliott Yamin were voted off in front of her.

Now a report from In Touch Weekly details that last season's runner-up told the weekly entertainment magazine at the Z100 Zootopia concert, "I hope that Blake wins. He is amazing!" But even though Blake's her pick, "I think that the person that will actually win is Jordin. Her voice is huge and incredible and she is so young."

Katharine McPhee could be a politician with that answer. Right now, it seems as if Jordin is the heavy favorite among those picking winners. Will she win big as Taylor Hicks did last season?

I respect that, Katharine. Thanks for your input. You're a winner in every angle! Read my equation. This simple formula tells me something else. Otherwise, it would be a heartbreaker of many teen-agers. Last year there were 3 guys and a girl. The first 2 guys got eliminated but the 3rd guy won. It was not the girl that won. Conversely, it's different this year, we have there 3 girls and a boy. The first 2 girls got eliminated but the 3rd girl will win. It will not be the boy, sorry.

Movie actors like Paul Newman, Jimmy Stewart, Humphrey Bogart, Katharine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall and Bette Davis make me want to live in the era they lived but I could have been just as inspired even now while I watch their work in films.

I know the guy was just trying to make a point but while there was certainly shock that Kat made it through Elvis week and Chris was sent home, I don't think there was much surprise at all after her "Rainbow" performance that Kat went to the finale. Elliott, even though he's an excellent vocalist in his own right, was always considered the underdog as the contest wound down. It will definitely be interesting this week. Jordin certainly appears to be the favorite and you would think most of Melinda's votes will go to her but Zabasearch has shown Blake with the most votes for the past 2 weeks so those that like him are staunch supporters and voters, sort of like we were for Kat last year.

I almost wish someone had retouched those pictures. The urge to make very bad Golden Globes jokes gets almost overwhelming. I think Katharine just appreciated everyone's talent because she knows better than anyone how hard it is to get up there and do what they do every week. Anybody would have to admit how unique Blake is. He wasn't my favorite but I could understand his appeal. And it always seems to shock us when somebody we consider kind of a kid is able to perform with the aplomb and professionalism people like Jordin, Lisa, and Paris brought to the stage.
