Interested in wedding cakes...

Now don't everyone flip out, I'm sure it isn't true!

This is the National Enquirer. 99% chance it is just nonsense or K and N are just playing around and thinking about years down the line.

I'm not sure what KMF policy is these days? I'm sure a mod will decide. I'm treating this as a joke!

Why would they go all the way to Burlingame to a public bakery? Katharine is a celebrity who would have a wedding planner bring all this stuff to her. And I don't think you look at cakes before anything else. I want to hear this from Kat.

I would tend to agree w/ "zzyzx" above.  When my wife & I got married a few years ago, the first thing that we checked on was the availability of our Church,... then, after that, somewhere to hold the wedding reception,... then we started checking on dinner catering & music... and THEN, after all of that was arranged, we finally started looking into where to get a cake, flowers, a dress for her & a tux for me, etc, etc, etc.

So, while I'm not going to say that this "can't" be true, it does sound a little "unusual", to say the least.  I also think that I'll wait to hear 'bout this from Kat herself!

Kat has "made it".  She's talked about in the National Enquirer.  True, there is a Copenhagen Bakery where I myself have bought great pastry. I can't imagine them reporting this story, but ya never know what $$ can do.

I think National Enquirer is only about 1% more reliable than Star is. And that's saying a lot.

Well, I don't need any rag to show some proof there that Kat and Nick are getting more serious of late. I fully expect they'll likely get married in another year or so. Sure, Kat usually downplays it in interviews and acts like she's not really sure. That may be true or it could be obfuscating to throw the press off the trail. You know she'll have to do that to keep the media from hounding her about it. Also, I suspect she'd rather keep it a mystery within the male fanbase. You know how it is with the male fans sometimes. She may be afraid that all her male fans will stop being interested if she ends up getting hitched. Though that'll show you proof who was really interested in her music and who wasn't...

I also have to take issue here with these rags ALWAYS being omniscient so to speak. Now you know why I named the star reporter in my satiric The Daily Dung pieces: Omni Scient. It seems those rags stories know everything that was said at the location from "reliable" witnesses or just flies on the wall somewhere nearby. Sometimes they claim to have planted spies who overhear things. How interesting they never name these spies or witnesses who were supposed to be employees in these businesses or someone walking by.

While I hate to admit it--sometimes these rags do have kernels of truth. But it's more in things that are generally obvious rather than absolute detailed truth. Kat and Nick have been together for quite a while, have had their ups and downs as all relationships do...and obviously are closer than anyone probably knows. The only thing that might stop them from marrying in the immediate term is Kat's career. Hey guys......Kat and Nick are not even engaged! Like they're going to divulge something that personal in a bakery??Why not in a pizzaria? I was pondering how could Nick ever afford a ring big enough to compete with the rocks Kat loves to wear??Hope he has some friends in the mining business.On the remote chance that there is any truth to this,I would wish them both all the happiness in the world!!

Well, even I'M not being serious in everything I said.

I just base that opinion on how close they've acted toward one another. That includes some public smooching and being everywhere together. Normally, that'd equal probable close commitment--especially after being together for two years. Though, as I said, Kat's going to obviously put her career ahead of marriage. I'll have to find that interview where she said once that when she was ready to get married--she'd put a freeze on her career and not let anyone or anything get in her way.

All I say is that people change their minds sometimes. I'm sure Kat will be focusing on developing her career only for the next year or more. But, considering Nick goes everywhere with her--a marriage sooner while she develops her career wouldn't interfere all that much.

LOL!!!! Very funny point you make about the ring keefir. She sure does love those chunky rings, as do I! I agree that we would have heard something about an engagement by now if this was true and I generally follow the rule that if I hear some gossip from the Enquirer it's pretty safe to assume that the opposite is probably true. However, if Kat and Nick do get married, I too wish them all the happiness in the world. He seems to be a wonderful, supportive guy who loves her to death, so the fact that he's 41 or 42 is inconsequential in the scheme of things. Would she be better off with a guy her age who doesn't appreciate her the way Nick does? I answer a resounding NO! Actually, I think he's really kind of cute too and in great shape for a 42 year old.

I don't believe there's a "wedding in the works" at this early stage of her career.
BUT... because Kat is trying to sell albums, I believe Kat would approach total strangers and try to dupe them with talk of wedding cakes. Its all about the publicity and keeping her name in the papers. It sure beats pulling the skirt up for pantiless pics, or even asking a talk show host to check for implants.

I think this is either (1) Katharine being her usual effervescent self, letting her mouth get two miles ahead
of her brain because she's excited, or (2) a total fabrication by a publication that has been known to do that.
No duping of strangers involved. I was also told that Burlingame is near San Francisco, Nick's hometown, so
that could be one reason for being there--if they were. And when the NE breaks the story about Katharine's
alien baby that was implanted after they beamed her up into the mothership from the top of the Space Needle
in Seattle and miraculously speed-gestated so she could take it with her to Minneapolis, I hope we're the first
(or second) to find out about that as well.

    Yes, Palo Alto where I live is about a 20 mins. drive to Burlingame, an upscale suburb, about 30 mins. drive south of San Francisco.  Copenhagen Bakery is a well established bakery where I myself have bought some delice pastry. I would be surprised if the folks there passed this story to NI, but then again for $$ perhaps a third party ??
