My friend works at LA.Direct Magazine and the buzz is that Kat is the May cover girl! They have an article about her hometown and about her weight loss and fashion. I saw a picture of the cover and she looks amazing as usual! It comes out on May 1st so watch out for it!! She emailed me a picture of the cover...WOW!!! Here's their website...www.LADirectmag.com

So that's what they were doing in that little video on the fan club. This looks like one of those overheated Sexy Hair shots where they have her looking like a cross between Cher and Queen Nefertiti. Or maybe this is her Goth look. She certainly can assume a lot of different looks, but I can't say this is my favorite.

it really is a nice magazine...i always see them at the whole foods in sherman oaks (on sepulveda)...there are a lot of places you can find them...a lot of the stores, banks, restaurants on ventura blvd have the mag...i think the website has a list of where exactly you can find them... www.ladirectmag.com

WOW! that photo jumps out at you with Total Hotness and sex appeal, its very sexy. I'd like to get the cover for this magazine as well, wow that is so hot. I agree with Groucho, its not my favorite but still a very good shot of Katharine.

I can see what you mean about the bottom lip. It looks tampered with (or photoshopped), but it is sooo hot it doesn't matter.

Whatever else it is, it's certain attention getting, which is the point of a magazine cover. Interesting that she just did the People with no makeup (minimal anyway) followed by this, which is nothing if not an attempt to see how different they can make her look. It almost makes me think of a 60's Hammer Films horror flick, where she could deliver a line like "I never drink.....wine...." and make it sound like "Dontcha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?"

Give Kat her glasses in that pic--and she'd be close to Emo territory. Yes, you need glasses to convey that "look"--even though her hair would have to be different. The extra dark eye shadow teeters close to the Goth persona as Groucho said. I hardly recognized Kat in that amazing cover--but it's just one of her many personas she plays in her photoshoots. She says herself that it's almost like playing dress-up. She's already had fun putting herself in different guises--especially last fall when she did those magazine shots placing her in different eras using wigs (80's, 70's, 60's, etc.)--and you wouldn't even know it was her if you weren't told. Kat's proof of chameleon acting ability is already pretty clear just based on these "out of character" type of shots. Well, I'm not a big fan of that eye shadow effect. And, yes, that bottom lip of hers looks overly plump (it's just that the lipstick is heavy duty)--but Kat just grabs your attention in any way she presents herself. It may be weird to see her like this for a minute. After a while, you recognize her and realize how hot of a photo it is. Perhaps one of Kat's most unusual photoshoot pics--but one of the most smoldering I've ever seen from just about any famous woman. By the way, there's numerous "regional" mags like this in the L.A. area. Yeah, they did something to her lower lip there. Not sure exactly what. This isn't my favorite look for Katharine but it is eye-catching.
