LOOKS LIKE THEY GOT IT RIGHT!!!

Katharine McPhee CD Review from MTV ASIA

MTV Coming from someone who released a Judy Garland song as her debut single, you might think Katharine McPhee never had it in her. Despite the wholesome vibe, it turns out that the McPheever can be an R&B spitfire if she wants to, as shown in the fantastic album opener "Love Story". Irresistible catchy drum hooks, sexy coos and the whole "girls just wanna have some fun" and "sistas unite" anecdote doesn't just stop there. While "Open Toes", "Not Ur Girl", and "Dangerous" might sound like a purr when compared with the blazing roar of Beyonce (remember "Ring the Alarm"?), they are fun, palatable and yet never once undermine Katharine's assertive vocal prowess.

And just like how she stole millions of hearts with her soulful rendition of "Over the Rainbow" on American Idol, Katharine made it known that she is undeniably a rising force to be reckon with on the urban/R&B scene with her heartfelt ballads like "Ordinary World", "Better Off Alone", and "Everywhere I Go" (a track written and produced by Babyface). Coupled with her alluring good looks, Katharine better prepare for her promising fast track career in pop, aside from her budding aspirations for the theatre.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.Others stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never the same. That my friends is Katharine McPhee

R&B spitfire!!! Oh I just love that. Some spitfire--shaves her head, rides a motorcycle, and her Rottweiler wears a collar made of body parts from ex-boyfriends. Sure. Oh well, I don't care what people call her as long as they appreciate her and tell people to buy the album. sorry, it just struck me funny.
