im not sure if this was posted already, sorry if it has, but i think it's a good sign that Kat is already booked for a live performance in June 2007, shows that she'll be nowhere near idle in the next coming months, which is awesome!

im guessing by this time she'll be promoting her already out 2nd single, it's only a matter of time for us to know which song is actually the 2nd single.

Idols for StarFest

Two veterans of last year's fifth season of "American Idol" will be among the performers at StarFest 2007 on June 2 at Gwinnett Arena. Leading the lineup: "Idol" reject Chris Daughtry, whose self-titled album was the fastest-selling rock debut since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991 (selling more than 1.9 million copies in 16 weeks).

He'll be joined by "Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee; indie rock band Dashboard Confessional, led by Boca Raton, Fla., singer-songwriter Chris Carrabba; and Augustana, which recorded its first album, "All the Stars and Boulevards," in Atlanta in 2004. Tickets go on sale Thursday at Ticketmaster outlets (ticketmaster.com or by phone at 404-249-6400).

That's interesting--considering this performance is even earlier than the Del Mar one that was apparently canceled. Also, it makes you wonder if maybe Kat will tour with Daughtry this summer to give an 'Idol' connection...and because Chris is obviously on RCA too. That might be interesting, even though I don't think they'd match as a touring show. Chris's audiences are somewhat different than Kat's audiences.

I'd be a bit wary about this one for those of you planning ahead as some did with the other event. They really should put "tentative" on these dates in the thought that maybe Kat will cancel them. Nevertheless, at least it creates buzz about a tour whether she does these particular gigs or not. Planning ahead, though, for things like this can be a real risk. You have to keep that in mind for any show you plan months in advance.

Interesting that most of the bill is hard rock--and Kat's the only "Rhythmic Pop"-oriented act on this music fest. And this isn't a fair, is it? I'm not familiar where this is or if it's part of a fair. The intermingling of people at this event should be quite interesting, considering a lot of headbangers will be hanging around. Then again, I think a Kat Pack poll would show a 25% increase in headbangers within the last six months.

I would suspect that a few more pop acts will be added to the bill.  I wouldn't call Daughtry, Dashboard Confessional or Augustana "head bangers".  They all fall under the rock banner but they aren't hard rock or anything like that.  Everyone at this show gets played on WSTR in Atlanta (a Top 40 station) so it'll be a show that represents what they play on the channel.

No chance Kat's going on tour with Daughtry.  No way in the universe.  One, it doesn't make sense stylistically.  And two, as good as Chris is going he still isn't doing major venues or anything like that YET.  I'm sure that'll come fairly soon though.  But he probably needs a second album worth of material first.

"I saw Katharine McPhee when there were about 12 contestants left on American Idol. She blew me away. I loved her grace, her style, her poise, her voice and her hair! I wanted her to be the face of Sexy Hair because she represented everything that I had in my head for the brand: youth, beauty, talent, class, a young sophistication, and sexiness." -- Jim Morrison, CEO of Sexy Hair Products.

I doubt that Chris and Katharine would tour together, their sounds are totally different and wouldn't necessarily garner the same groups of people at concerts. It'd be an interesting concept, but I don't even think Daughtery is big enough to tour on its own. Taylor got a little ahead of himself if you ask me...
