WOW!!! I'm so proud of KAT!! That's wonderful news!!

I'm trying to catch up on all the latest Kat goodies!! Just got home and watched my recording of ET. Still haven't seen the Leno performance yet. I just bought several copies of KAT's CD tonight and as you already know, it's fantastic!! The girl at the check out counter asked me who is this girl? Lots of people are buying her CD!!! I used that opportunity to tell her and everybody in the checkout line about the fabulous Ms. McPhee! LOL Also told them that I had already heard all the tracks and it was outstanding pop/R&B like Christina A. KAT ROCKS!!!

She's still #10 as of the hour--and right below Daughtry. By tomorrow, I see her surpassing Chris's CD by several--though it seems like such a tough climb to get Kat up to #2 right below Norah. That's where it deserves to be...but we may have to wait a few days or so before it does.

Beyond the regular Top 100 on Amazon, I mentioned in my review on Amazon this morning that Kat hit Amazon's Jazz charts this week! Right now, she's #3 there...sandwiched in-between Norah's CD's and Harry Connick Jr's latest album. Usually, those jazz charts are dominated by either Norah, HC Jr., or Michael Buble (in fact, it's been that way for a couple of years)--so having Kat suddenly show up there is a real surprise. The question has to be asked though: How did it end up there? There's a few jazz chord progressions in 'Do What You Do' and maybe a couple of others--but it's still what Kat called it: A Rhythmic Pop album. Then again, Michael Buble is what you call pop too...and he's always #1 on the Billboard Jazz charts. Apparently even if you have a little slight hint of jazz in one or two tracks on your album, then it can crossover to those charts.

Last I looked, Kat had close to 90 reviews for her album just in one day. I was review #21 early this morning (yes, I wanted to catch the early risers who were still on the fence about buying it)--but how many people can say they get that many reviews on debut day? Kat's going to have multiple hundreds of reviews in there in coming months--and it appears 90% of them are going to keep her cumulative rating at a respectable four stars. I sure see a lot of five-star reviews, though, to keep it at four all this time. Too bad they don't put the 1/2 next to each star, because I think it's right on the verge of hitting the five-star mark.

If you can think of anything new to say about the album --go write a review at Amazon if you can this week. You might only persuade a few people to buy it (and get the ire of the adamant haters as they did to my review)--but who cares? As long as you don't put your real name or address on there...nobody will track you down and strangle you to death. Plus, any way to persuade unsure potential fans out there is all for the better. I hope I proved my point that the album can be enjoyed by just about anybody in a large family unit.
