You know, if you download and install divx from here: http://www.divx.com/ and then watch the vinman divx's on it - I defy you to show me how these mpegs are any better! You'd be quibbling! Try it. And there is a greater selection too.

And you get the intro and the judges comments...

Vinman's stuff is awesome, don't get me wrong here you get a couple of extras.

1. Original soundtrack, Digital Dolby 5.1 instead of a stereo downconversion.

2. 1080X720 resolution instead of  720X400 and depending on the size of the screen that can been seen, the MPG4 at overmuse look almost HD when viewed in a 4 inch window.

Specs for both

Vinman's

Video: DivX 5 720x400 30.00fps 2998Kbps [Video  0]
Audio: MPEG Audio Layer 3 48000Hz stereo 160Kbps [Audio 1]

HDTV w/ DD 5.1

Video: MPEG2 Video 1280x720 59.94fps 19000Kbps [Video]
Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz 6ch 448Kbps [Audio]

So what's bad about these? File size is the only problem and what caused the file size to be so huge, well having a frame rate near 60 frames per second is clearly overkill and doubles the filesize over Vinman. But that is the HDTV standard.

The big shortcoming at the moment is that you have to play them off a computer... I can live with that until recordable HD-DVD hits the market.

In ten years, if I left this quality of file "on the table" and didn't have access to them then, which I almost certainly will not, then I have a feeling that I will be kicking myself over it.

Pheenomenon, did you not get these files when trist posted them?

And a big thanks to differentlife for serving up the Meatloaf w/ Kat (chup).

A couple of extra tips on viewing these, don't have a bunch of stuff running in the background, those programs will try to access the harddrive and make the video stutter.  You might even want to shut down antivirus if you have active scanning on.  Try them again after doing these things.

Yes, I picked up the same ones you have way back when. Actually they don't play well on my system, not enough ram or speed I guess. I'm very happy with my vinman's  They are certainly good enough for the likes of me.

I have on mpeg:

Think
Time of my life
SOTR
Meatloaf duet
Blackl Horse

I guess you are covered on those? I haven't really been following this thread, don't know what you are missing.

Well, it's 497MB! I don't think any of the file sharing services take anything that big. I'll put it on my server. I'll let you know when it is up.

Edit: Upload started, be about 2 hours 20 minutes

That link is showing 0kb for the filesize, here is a cut and paste of the info:

Downloaded: times
File name:
File size: 0.00 MB / 0 KB
Description:

You might want to check your link on this one McPheever63.  Note that unlike your other quicksharing links this one lacks a file name after the number.
  For example:

http://s15.quicksharing.com/v/845744/Katharine_McPhee_Meatloaf_It_s_All_Coming_Back_To_Me.mpg.html

the orange part is missing on the Over The Rainbow link.

Just a question....when I click on the link for "Time of My Life" it doesn't connect with the site...now, I was successful with the other links so...maybe because I'm already downloading "It's All Coming Back To Me" right now?  Can it not two things at once on the same computer?

Alright, gotta go.  I'll check back later to see if you can help me with this.

"I saw Katharine McPhee when there were about 12 contestants left on American Idol. She blew me away. I loved her grace, her style, her poise, her voice and her hair! I wanted her to be the face of Sexy Hair because she represented everything that I had in my head for the brand: youth, beauty, talent, class, a young sophistication, and sexiness." -- Jim Morrison, CEO of Sexy Hair Products.

I guess that's what happens. You can only donwload one file at a time.. at least that's how it worked here. =)

Most free download sites limit you to one download though and I can't fault them for that really.
