This is a really sweet updated from a Taylor fan, Shooting Star, posted on the AI board regarding her Altanta concert tour experience.

I was there. I was sitting or rather standing and screaming, right in the front row, dead center. Kat along with each other Idol was standing just a few feet in front of me as they performed (when they weren't moving around of course)

First I want to say I am a Taylor fan, or so I believed. I now can say without a doubt that I love each and every one of them. I am so proud of all these young people. I had the best time of my life last night!

Now for Kat. I met Kat before the show at the meet and greet along with all the other Idols. When I got to Kat I looked into her eyes and saw just how vulnerable she truly is. Now I admit I have seen and read and heard alot of negative comments about her. I have tried my best not to fall into judging her myself. But last night as I looked at her, I saw a truly beautiful young girl who is very very vulnerable. There is a sadness in her eyes that you just don't see in pictures or on TV. But in person? It was like looking into a fawn's eyes. That might sound corny and I apologize if it does. But something touched my heart immediately. I asked her how her foot was and she simply replied "awwwwww" as if no one had asked that yet and a tear formed in the corner of her eye. She then smiled so I could take her picture and I smiled back and told her she was so pretty. That's about all that would come out of my mouth. She is stunningly beautiful. On stage she was very disappointed that she could not do more than two songs. I can't remember if she said why but the impression I got was that they did not want her over doing it up there. She was moving around quite a bit and should be commended because she kept up with the others and she even showed us her boot thing that was on her foot. Taylor by the way seems very very protective of her. On stage he was right behind her and seemed to ready should she lose her balance. He even hopped a couple of steps as she did. She had to because of her foot of course but he kind of played it off like a dance..lol. I thought that was cute.

Since I was in the very front I don't know what happened behind me. Whether someone was drunk and rude back there, I just don't know. I have seen alot of ugly comments made in the media about Kat and last night and I can tell you they are completely wrong. She teared up on stage, yes, but she was hearing the screams of many many of her fans and it was overwhelming. You could see it in her face. I screamed just as loud as any of her die hard fans. I wanted her to know 'this mom' was very very proud of her. (I felt like a proud mom of all these wonderful young people) I screamed her name then and she glanced down at me and I just smiled back a big smile. She saw me and smiled too

You Kat fans can be very proud of that young lady. Hang in there with her no matter what any one says. Just be there for her. She is going to go far. Remember she is young, so very young. I did not realize how young until I saw into her eyes

I love that review. You should make a new topic for this, so everyone can have the chance to read it. ^_^

Some one should post that on IDF as well. I remember reading a review from a backstage insider and they described both Kat and Taylor as having a sadness about them...

Good review, as vulnerable as Kat is I think she is also pretty smart and tough enough not to let the hecklers get under her skin. She has said that the thing about "celebrity" that suprised her the most was how mean some people are.

Kat's eyes are incredible: Like a fawn is a great description.

I appreciate the review, especially the part about the meet and greet, and believe that good people likely outnumber the heckler type by about one thousand to one in any crowd.

That's true, even on a place like MJ's there is like 3 major freaks amidst the 10 people that post there. Same on IDF. There's always going to be the obsessive people when it comes to Kat, but they don't out-number the normal ones.

I found clips of Kat's BHCT and SOTR on YouTube. The quality isn't very good, but at least we still can see and hear her.

I don't understand why she cannot sing three songs because of her foot. Just give her a stool and a pillow for her foot...

I'm guessing that maybe....her third song was supposed to be "Think" (since all of the Idols are doing their AI CD songs) and they probably thought that given her foot...her singing that song and not being very mobile isn't a very good combination.  She needs to be able to move around to do that one.  So maybe they'll go back to the drawing board and figure out a different song for her to do where she doesn't need to be very mobile ('SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME"...sorry just a suggestion).

Because if the thing I read was correct (I have no reason to know one way or the other...) that her other three songs are going to be "Think" "I Have Nothing" and "My Destiny".  Not sure if her voice is ready to do "SOTR" & "IHN" or "MD" yet so...that's my best guess based on what I know.

"I saw Katharine McPhee when there were about 12 contestants left on American Idol. She blew me away. I loved her grace, her style, her poise, her voice and her hair! I wanted her to be the face of Sexy Hair because she represented everything that I had in my head for the brand: youth, beauty, talent, class, a young sophistication, and sexiness." -- Jim Morrison, CEO of Sexy Hair Products.

Wow, that version of "Black Horse" was almost a different song.  I like how Katharine's varying her performance each night.  She puts a little different spin on "SOTR" each time.  Does she have 42 different spins?  We've seen what six so far I think.  Only 36 more to go.

She sounds better and better each night.  I think the Columbia SOTR was the best so far.  But you can tell her voice is almost all the way there.  It's pretty close to 100 percent as far as I can tell.

Oh, she seemed to be moving around pretty well when she did "Black Horse".  Better than I thought she would be at least.  So that's good news.

I read a review and it didnt say anything out of the ordinary but I heard from a fellow Kat fan that people were shouting bad thing from the crowd to her and Kat cried, dont know if this has any truth to it cause like I said I havent read anything about it but I sure would like to see the vids from the Georgia concert. If this is true I will be very upset..

I think that's been more or less proven false from other accounts--though I'm always one to push concert venues to NOT sell alcohol during family events. If people want to drink, they should have a bar in the lobby where the bored dads (or even mothers ) can go and have a shot of whiskey or beer. Just as long as they don't drive home and can't take the alcohol within a certain perimeter...it should work out. The Rose Garden Arena in Portland allows alcohol in some events (primarily the Blazer games and other sporting events)--but it's caused some brawls on occasion.

I hope to God they won't allow beer into the venue for the Portland 'AI' show. You already have overly serious fans for certain idols who may get billigerent after knocking back a beer or two. And even I don't want a drunk person holding a beer near me who could potentially dump its contents over my head because I'm wearing orange.

Anyway, this thread is obviously an extension of the one in the Kat Chat section--but it's a real highlight thread on the board today. This particular Taylor fan obviously had that 'eureka!' moment I've mentioned before. It's that process of discovery that sometimes even baffles the person experiencing it...as well as those of us beholding it who think they should have experienced it earlier. It's a mysterious process--though I do think the power of persuasion in the media has at least some to do with it.

As far as Kat experiencing heckles from halfwits in the audience: I don't think anybody really has the guts to do it. We've heard no reports whatsoever of anybody attempting it. The people who intended to are probably closet Kat fans anyway who were riveted the minute Kat came out on stage. The live experience will do that to you more than anything. And being dragged out by security for heckling isn't something anybody wants to have on their resume.

Yeah, I found those other Aug. 3 Youtube vids on my own and watched them. (When it comes to finding vids of Kat I"m like a wild boar going after a truffle.) Anyway, he BHACT interpretation was decidedly different, maybe a bit more of a sexy growl at points. I think when you are going to do the same two songs night in and night out that mixing it up a bit is a good idea.

Having said that, I'm sure there are some fans who would like to hear as close to the AI rendition as possible. I know, when I used to go to concerts, that I hated it when one of my faves was messed around with too much. Too bad we don't get high quality vids for each concert. I guess if they bought the tickets that close they would have to hock thier camcorder to afford it...LOL

Kat seemed to be moving around fairly well considering the cast
