A few newly created files  for the iPod crowd:

This one was requested in the original post, so here you are Caro.  I made this from diff's 1280X720 .avi file and it looks great.

The Tonight Show  (First album promotion performance)


I also made  a set  of iPod videos for the acoustic performances  from the  VH1 rips (Thx trippy11)  Note that these videos aren't "max spec" like the majority of my files  since the source file was a relatively low bit rate it would have been overkill. I'm sure these will still look good on an iPod though. (Also note: If these videos are offered for sale in the iTunes store I will delete these links.)

If I get it it'll probably have the "N" logo on it.  The one you made there looks pretty darn good, CRB. :thumbs:

What are the exact settings to use in SUPER? For both 4:3 and 16:9?

Basically, if I make any, I'll just plug in whatever numbers worked in the past. And I was wondering for bitrates, what relative increase/decrease is chosen for a given source bitrate/resolution?

All the ones I made for Kat's AI5 stuff I made "max spec" that we talked about earlier in this thread.  Essentially the bitrate was ~2500 kb/s video, 160 kb/s 48kHz audio and 16:9 @ 640X360 and 4:3 @ 640X480 unless source was short of those specs and then I adjusted downward accordingly.

Videora I-Pod converter is a very nice piece of  free ware   that I used when possible, it tends to distort the video less than jack of all trades like Super.  One caveat is the Videora program ( at least ver 2.20, a new one is out) doesn't spike half the frames of the 60fps stuff (30 fps max iPod spec) so for those Super only.

CRB I forgot about that Videora. Thanks! It came out pretty good. I chose:
2-pass H.264, Baseline Level 1.3, 768kbps vid, 160kbps aud. I couldn't choose anything higher than 768kbps for h264. The "2500kbps" you mentioned is for MPEG4? Is there any benefit to doing MPEG4? H.264 is supposed to be more advanced, though I guess it might depend on source. wait a minute. I thought H.264 was a variety of MPEG4.
ooh my very first iPod conversion! Makes me grateful I can just pop an XviD AVI or WMV on my player.

It is the IDF factor, that place has hundreds of lurkers and many have blogs and other boards they repost links to.  And that thread hasn't been bumped in over an hour either.  The walls have eyes over at IDF, seriously.  I've  had yousendit links go belly up in 15 minutes, especially on something like this: iPod version of a music video. 

Anyway, here is a re-upload  on my Sendspace Max account that should last a while:

I did this iPod video for the EPK two different ways and I think both are very good files.   Since my "Max Spec" technique made a huge file (337 MB),  I also ran one at a smaller frame size and lower bitrate for those who don't have a lot of iPod hard drive space.
