Bigshady, you requested a How To for converting audio awhile ago. Finally got to finishing it.

A/V Guides
Thought I'd be ambitious and open a thread in the hopes of putting many A/V guides in here. But for now, just one.

Using BeSweet

For converting between audio formats
AC3 to MP3, WAV to MP3, MP3 to WAV, ...

Here's a downloadable RTF file, readable by Windows WordPad or any word processor (I think).

Maybe your download is being cutoff? Here's a couple more links to the same file

^Thanks. The sendspace one worked.

Question: I saved an audio file from a cd that I wanted to convert to mp3. Under "properties" it says the file type is "Audio CD track". I wasn't able to "input" the file into Besweet. I assumed it was a wav file, but I tried all the different types it accepts and I couldn't get it to find the file. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure how you ripped the file from CD to your hard drive, but I think you can do the following

Windows Media Player 11 offers ripping of CDs. Dunno about 10. I can't recall WMP10 being able to, but I hardly used it for audio.

In WMP11:

There's a Rip button up top. Press Ctrl-1 if you're not in Full Mode
The "Rip" button has a More Options
The "Rip Music" tab says where it will rip it
Format can be set here, or in the Rip window (below)
Audio quality should be set to Best (but I don't think it matters for WAV output)

In the Rip window you'll see your CD
If not, Tools>Options>Devices and check that your CD drive is there
Checkmark the files to rip
Right click the Rip button up top, choose "Format" WAV (lossless)
Right click the Rip button up top, choose "Rip ____ (d"
The d: will be whatever is your CD drive letter
The ___ will be the CD info that WMP gets from the Net, if it did.
    Otherwise, it says "Rip Unknown..."
The files will be ripped to WAVs, in the folder you saw in the "Rip Music" tab
By default, this is in My Documents\My Music\ArtistName\AlbumName

Given my GoFish ripping post, there's most likely a 2-step procedure that can be used instead of this one.

Personally, I use EAC
