I was reading the AI board on AOL, and someone mentioned Kat being on Extra, interviewed for what I'm guessing was Home for the Holidays. Apparently, she talked about SOTR... It doesn't come on where I live, so will anyone here be able to catch a later showing of the show and possibly cap it if she's on?

Great Video! It was in excellent quality and I liked how even though Kat didn't want to sing that song anymore she knows that it was the song that made everybody fall in love with her. I don't really blame her for not wanting to sing it anymore because It is time to move on and sing a new song but I don't have a problem with her singing SOTR again. I love that song. Whatever Kat sings, I'll listen.

I didn't see this on Extra--so thanks for providing that, Diff. I don't know how you manage to capture these things when those entertainment mags never announce in advance what they're going to show. Good little interview there backstage after the 'HftH' special taped. After you sing 'OtR' that often during a summer tour--you're apt to get tired of it. I've always thought that Kat's the type who needs to be continually refreshed with challenging and different material to keep her creatively inspired. Some creative people are that way and need to have something different a little more often without getting a little bored. That doesn't take away the fact that we all love 'OtR' as a classic song and will now associate it with Kat forever from the beginning of her career. In fact, I'm sure she'll sing it again someday after she tucks it away for a while. Sometimes after you haven't sung something for a long time--it feels good to go back and give a new interpretation later. I've seen some here speculate that she'll sing it in a different way anyway on this show. It'd already been a while since she sang it last--so no doubt she found some new ways of interpreting it. And when you put the theme behind it for this special, it should be very moving. It just makes me wonder now if Kat was asked to sing 'OtR' yet again on the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Maybe she turned it down because of that--and because she didn't have a single ready yet to sing there. That CBS version was presenting performers singing more Broadway and semi-classical material yesterday morning...so it could be Kat may have been asked to perform 'OtR'...which could have just driven her crazy.
