I think there was the background music on "My Destiny" was too loud towards the end. Its like you can't hear Kat's voice or is it just my earphones

My destiny's music is a bit too loud... but Kat sounds great. SOTR is absolutely amazing! I'm mesmerized... I can't stop listening to it now...

I think her voice sounds different toward the end of My Destiny, but I like it. It sounds pretty good I am so Happy to finally hear it. Make sure you have the whole link maybe you forgot something.

My impressions, after about half a dozen listens to each (it's the critic AND Kat fan in me): SOTR: Absolutely lovely vocal, as you would expect. The one problem I have with the recording (NOT with Kat, mind you) is that I wish they had kept the instrumental arrangement simple throughout, instead of building it into the big crescendo as they did here. When it gets to that big "SOMEWHERE over the Rainbow" moment toward the end, the backing threatens to overpower Kat! NOT a good idea! But thankfully, it settles back down. My Destiny: MUCH, MUCH better. Again, it gets a little "too big" innstrumentally about two-thirds through, but I expected that with this tune. I'm still not a huge fan of this kind of "power pop," but at least this version did better by our girl than the finale version did. And Kat's vocals on both, are of course, stellar. What really elevated Destiny for me was hearing Kat at full strength. Even more so than she did the first time, she transcends the song itself. The more I listen to Destiny, the better it gets, because of her. Instrumental misgvings aside, it's great to hear Kat as a studio recording artist in her own right. Congrats to her (again) all the way for that. I have a strong feeling that even better work is on the horizon....

SOTR gives me goosebumps, she is so amazing and i love the instrumental backing, although i would agree at times it can be overdone, but kat seems to fill the song and make it so warm and fresh, I LOVE IT!

Here's my 2 cents. The link from the radio site is legal. Every McPhan has the right to know that both songs are available on the radio now (what does it mean? REQUEST!!! ). The radio site put the songs up is for promotional purposes. People listen to them, and if they like them, they will request the songs and/or buy the single on 27th June. Not all people are Internet-savvy. The bottom line is, you guys don't copy the songs and share them. Make people listen to the songs on the site, make them like the songs, make them request the songs, and make them buy the single.

I didn't want to be a poop so I help my tongue but I have to agree with sircritic - both tracks were a bit over produced. Nothing against Kat. I guess it's my fault for expecting anything else - we were told it would be a pop treatment tailored for the top 40 market. That synthesizer in Destiny is really out of place! I just have to wonder at the highly paid and experienced minds that got together and came up with these arrangments...

Have yet to listen (will tomorrow) but am not surprised about the over instrumention you are all talking about. RCA does that - unfortunately. When you have a voice like Kat 's and also Clay Aiken's - you don't need to cover it with their loud instrumentation. Their voices are quite perfect without any music at all.

Anyone esle notice or are dissapointed that there is a line left out of Over the Rainbow at the beginning. "To a place behind the sun." Add a verse but lose a line. Why? Strange....

I managed to download Cd quality versions of both singles and compared them to the streaming versions. TRUST ME guys. Katharine knocked both songs out of the ballpark!! The Cd quality versions are incredible!They are leagues better than the streaming versions. Before you jump on me, I've already pre-ordered 2 copies of her single so I didn't cheat Kat out of any sales. I'm also not sharing my downloaded versions so the rest of you will have to buy the single on 27th June to see that I'm right.

Let's just say that there are so many dynamics and subtleties to Kat's voice that weren't captured by the crappy streaming versions. It's like eating caviar, you need to pair it with a fine wine to fully appreciate the complexities of its taste. Similarly, Kat's voice needs to matched with a h
