I hope this comes out right but...this looks better than I anticipated!  There's a fine line with these kinds of movies between clever/funny and just stupid.  And looks like this might be on the right side of that line from seeing that two-minute clip.

Gotta love that part about Simon, Randy & Paula.  It would be even funnier if Harmony was sitting next to her when she said it and maybe said, "Yeah, I've never liked Simon.  Randy is my favorite."

I also like that Harmony says a line and the next one is "Boys like her." Meaning, of course, Shelly but almost referencing back to Harmony. And I like that Kat's going to have people thinking of music (Harmony) in connection with her.

It is great seeing Kat in this!! I was anxious for the film to come out in August to begin with- and now even more so after seeing this trailer!

it would really have been beating us over the head to have a direct Idol reference aimed at Katharine. Still, I thought it was funny. Absolutely right, a movie like this is walking a fine line. You either have to go totally ape$%^& like they did in Just Friends, where the comedy was so broad that was what made it funny, or else you have to really do a tightrope walk. Of course some people think JF went too far, but I like the people in it and I thought they saved it. Ryan Reynolds got a little nutzoid at times, but AF's Britney impersonation was hilarious because she was supposed to be that way.

Actually it's so weird to see Kat...it's almost like going to a movie and seeing one of your relatives in it. It feels like it's a friend and how weird would that be to see a friend in a major movie?! That said...OMG! I can't wait...it really looks like it's going to be funny and I hope for Kat it is a major HIT! That look on her face after Anna says her name in that "exorcist voice" is priceless! Yay Kat, Yay Kat! We are all so proud of you and can't wait to see you shine like the star you are on the big screen!! WOOT!!

Not much new here, what I thought was interesting is that they bill it as a movie starring Anna Faris, Colin Hanks and katharine McPhee.

There was only one scene where I thought she looked, if anything, a little less pg. than otherwise, and that was where she was wearing a dark colored top and they were all gathered on a porch doing something. You know, one of those tops she used to wear on Idol that had everybody speculating...  but according to that guy at the imdb, she just shows up in one scene toward the end with a baby.

Anna's Exorcist voice cracks me up. It's just so unexpected and stupid and... I don't know. I'm really starting to like AF though.

Excuse me,(don't get your liver in a quiver)but I was not comparing Kat to JLo....merely thought that Kat might be on the soundtrack and the voice kinda reminded me of Kat's.

BTW..."never" is a pretty strong word! I think I'm allowed to compare any singer to another,if I so choose!!

You're right, Joe, that would have been funny if they'd had Kat's character say she never really liked Simon much.

Wow, Kat's new movie is only four months away from release. It looks like it might actually be kind of funny.

The thing is, this is really an Anna Faris movie, and that's just kind of a funny line. Not everybody is going to make immediate references to katharine like we do, especially when it isn't even her scene.

Nothing new really, I just get a kick out of how many blogs and such consider this an Anna Faris and Katharine McPhee movie. They may have gotten her Idol year wrong (there seems to be a lot of mixing up of Season 6 and 2006) but at least they know who she is!
