Diff, in you travels around the video editing forums, have you ever found any freeware .MOV editors. It would be nice if we could chop Ms Simpson without converting the file. Or if we do need to convert it to edit this video, it has some rather pronounced scan/interlace lines is that something that can be taken out during the conversion even though it isn't interlaced?
ooh nice! Looks like whoever made the MOV didn't deinterlace the source from their camcorder. To fix it you'd have to go back to source I think.
As for lossless cutting... what do you have against Jessica?
I thought I had a way (ffmpeg) but something's not right with what I did. If anyone has a program, the cut point is around 266.84 seconds.

In VLC, just choose Video, Deinterlace, Blend (or other)

Streams extracted with yamb2.0.0.8 + mp4box 0.4.4. MP4 made with ffmpeg SVN-r10908. I had to cut earlier than the start of Kat's part otherwise I get this problem (10 sec sample):

OK. I've figured out cutting and joining MOVs losslessly so it's just the title and then on to Kat's part.
