Katharine will be headlining the Christmas show on TNT
Awesome! I wonder what holiday tune she'll sing...
More headliners:
www.hiphop-elements.com/article/read/4/9022/1/ QUOTE Chart-topping phenomenon Ne-Yo, High School Musical's Vanessa Hudgens, country superstar Alan Jackson, legendary vocalist Andrea Bocelli, rising recording artists Colbie Caillat, Heather Headley and Katharine McPhee are slated to headline TNT's annual presentation of "Christmas In Washington," hosted for the fourth year by Dr. Phil and Robin McGraw. Annually attended by the President and First Lady and other Washington VIPs, this concert is a holiday music celebration benefiting the National Children's Medical Center. "Christmas In Washington" will be taped at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., premiering on TNT Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). "Each year, TNT celebrates the holidays in style with this wonderful family event that benefits the great work carried out by the National Children's Medical Center," said Michael Wright, senior vice president in charge of the content creation group for TNT, TBS and TCM. "This year's line-up represents a variety of musical styles guaranteed to please just about any ear. We are extremely proud to have had such a long and fruitful relationship with 'Christmas In Washington.' And we're especially thrilled to be working once again with our hosts, Dr. Phil and Robin McGraw." Kat reunion with Andrea Bocelli and Dr Phil and Robin McGraw. Thanks to Philostone for this.
We could only "wish" ......................*inserts Santa smiley*
Funny how MTV leaves out Bocelli & Dr. Phil in their story. I guess they figure that audience doesn't care about them. That's good though! MTV thinks enough of Katharine to mention her!
OK then...this is very cool. Good to know we'll have Katharine out there on TV a few times in the near future. What will she sing? Hmm...doesn't matter to me. I'm sure it'll be fantastic. Maybe she'll sing with Andrea again! That would be cool.
Sure, I could see it happen in the surreal media world we live in. Of course, all those kids in the audience would have to pay $500 a seat to hear him sing that close. But emptying the piggy bank to hear the guy sing a few feet away from you would be worth it.
Thanks for the confirmation that Kat will be on at least one other holiday show this year. While seeing her at live events is preferable (they'll probably be taping this already the first week of December to accomodate the President's schedule)--it's almost mandatory now to see Kat sing on a network holiday special of some sort. "Christmas in Washington" has a huge history of great performers who've sung (or just spoken) in front of past Presidents. Of course, Kat already impressed George W. and Laura earlier this year at that youth convention--and they probably remember her from that. I think the White House staff contact the performers either via the President requests--or just by suggestion of the staff themselves. We can only hope George and Laura personally picked Kat to attend this rather than a staffer recommending. But it really doesn't matter just based on the feather it puts in Kat's cap...regardless of her political beliefs.
The best thing here is the possibility of Kat and Andrea Bocelli reuniting. I've been requesting that on a few threads here of late--and I get the impression someone was listening. It's just been long enough now where it made you wonder if they'd ever sing together again (I do think her debut album may have distanced her a bit from the Foster/Bocelli universe temporarily)--even though time away always makes things better. Hearing them sing the "The Prayer" together once and for all on national TV would be the ultimate Christmas song that isn't really a Christmas song. Or, maybe a new duet on a traditional carol would be awe-inspiring.
I don't know why this show moved to TNT in recent years (it used to be on NBC for years)--but TNT still gets good ratings for a lot of things. Expect the lurkers here to increase here in December. Remember to always give a friendly while they scrutinize our every word.
Kat's bio is up on the TNT Xmas in Washington site now:

I believe the first time I heard Andrea Bocelli sing The Prayer was on Celine Dion's Christmas show a few years back. She pretty much introduced him to the US "pop audience" with that performance. Would love to see Kat doing that song again with Andrea!
TNT will broadcast the show at 10pm est wednesday and have a replay at 11pm and at 2am thursday

I didn't know NBC was in favour of the government seizing control of all aspects of industry, banking, commerce and the economy, shutting down the stock market and ending capitalism and turning the USA into a "workers paradise". Fancy that. And all this time their parent company GE is the worlds largest manufacturer of weapons and the greatest profiteer of that far right wing creation, the Military Industrial Complex. Sneaky!
I live and I learn. Thanks for passing along your great wisdom and understanding of history and current events.
Anyway, keep requesting "O come all ye faithfull", it is getting radio spins and being downloaded on ITunes. And that was before tonights Bravura performance. Let's make it the surprise Christmas hit.
Big thanks to all the cappers. Once more I have to try to find some disk space for all the new mega-sized media...
thanks a lot you two. I'll never be able to look at Al Roker or a lightbulb the same again. Or any other smooth round object for that matter. Don't know what this is good for (PMPs?) but here's a 720x400 AVI/mp3 (vinman-like), 174MB This Christmas medley

Hey, good to see you back and raving again.
There's only one reason I would watch any program with GWB in it and that's Katharine. And that's ALL I have to say about that. God bless us every one. (I'm trying, I'm trying...)
Thanks Groucho, I've been busy working on a secret project, it will be unveiled soon.
That isn't a rant, that is just a bit of sarcasm!
Here is the OCAYF on stage6 for high quality viewing.
