I'm banned at IDF for sticking up for Katharine a little too eloquently

Hanging around, involved with the requesting campaign (My 4th Katharine McPhee website ), maybe we missed you on that one? KMF was very quiet there for a while though it seems to be picking up again. I just dropped in to read the lament to which Teilah emailed me a link, and figured I'd drop the latest media I'm working on.

So - usual stuff, just not posting as much, for which a lot of people will no doubt be thankful.

I'm always glad to see you drop some media here and there!

Thanks so much!! Loved the pics!! Kat without shoes again!! LOL She sang Over The Rainbow??? That must have been a wonderful and unexpected surprise for the fans!!! Wonder where the third backup singer was in St. Louis?

They were really strict there! Lady sitting behind me her daughter was one of the openers for kat and made her shut her camera offhowever security finally decided to let her tape her daughter anyways

Thanks, Simon, for all those vids. I'm surprised Kat decided to reprise 'SOTR' one more time. But she probably left just enough time away from it to make it fresh again. And her version here is completely different from the one we remember from last year. It was done in a more "current" (wink, wink) way--complete with more melismatic touches that Mariah or Christina would do. Maybe purists will find that a negative when Kat used to do most of the lines melisma-free (other than maybe one or two phrases). Even so, hearing the whole thing a cappella made it stand alone on that set. The crowd obviously hasn't tired of it either based on the reaction.

I guess this proves that taking a left-turn route into singing a standard doesn't hurt a show with more modern dancing and 'Dangerous' types of grooves. Originally, Kat said she didn't want 'SOTR' on her album due to the incongruous nature of the song and the other material. But you notice Kat's live shows get more and more diverse lately in the types of songs she sings. Throwing in that opening to 'Feelin' Good' a while back was just part of that diversity I hope she continues to carve out on her shows.

Next show: Andrea Bocelli comes out and sings a duet of 'Somos Novos' with her on a show at...Six Flags! And I'd discuss Bocelli sticking around to do some modern dance moves with the backup dancers on 'Not Ur Girl'...but I don't like to give spoilers.

Thanks CRB. For a minute I thought she'd forgotten the words but she was just compressing it a little. Silly silly me. That song is probably burned into her brain so hard she'll never get rid of it. I wonder where that came from anyway?
