interesting Mtv movie blog tidbit...when asked if she would love to portray Maria in West Side Story. Kat said she loved the musical West Side Story and would love to play the role of Maria if she was considered and asked. Do you supposed a producer is considering a remake of West Side Story again. That would be sooooo awesome!!!

heckya, she should play Maria in remake of West Side Story. i had said this about a year ago or so, thought she would be perfect for it. and no she may not be Puerto Rican, but neither was Natalie Wood and the movie did great at the box office and Nat didn't even do the singing in the movie, whereas, Kat can. this role would be perfect for her and to finally hear the words flow out of her mouth in that interview, makes me very excited.

Another movie remake she should consider is "A Star Is Born" the version made by Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, helluva movie that one was. Kat can sing, she has the advantage to do musicals and those two should be at the top of the list.  "Watch Closely Now, Are You Watching Me Now?" perfect song for her........

i hope she was serious and attempt it, please, please,please, Kat, do it, do that remake of West Side Story, i have my ticket and popcorn ready now.

Oh damn, I just loved that movie. I was a big Natalie Wood fan in those days. The only downside I can see is that I just flashed on all the noise some people made about how cheeky it was of her to wear those Pretty Thing sweaters, so I can just hear them reacting to "I Feel Pretty." But who cares. Can't you just her sitting there singing "Only death can part us now" to some Hollywood hunk, who can hopefully sing and not just look pretty...

Kat would be purrfect as Maria in "West Side Story" .

 And pls, Rob Marshall, take a look at Kat for your new musical, "NINE".  I'm sure her people are pushing for her.  Marshall did such a tremendous job with his non-musical, dancing actors, except for Catherine Zeta Jones, in Best Picture "Chicago" just  think what he will do with "NINE"  and I hope, hope, hope Kat snags a role in it.
