The guy seemed a little cynical about the entire event. He wasn't knocking Katharine...just remarking that it seemed like for an event "aimed at a young audience" you had Babyface singing a song more toward the Baby Boomer crowd (which in fact was more of the audience).
Katharine saying, "That was kinda lame" was pretty funny. I like that the reporter made fun of the crowd for how weak they were in just giving polite applause.

I read this article in the post the day after and it made me mad. This reporter was just trying make a name for himself. Sometimes reporters just make stuff up to sound cool.
I was at that performace just 6 feet or so from the stage and I can tell you first hand that she was awesome. There were people next to me during the Alanis Morrisette song that said "WOW" under their breath when she hit those soft notes.
Also, Kat was the first one out there after the event and she took pictures with fans and she signed autographs.
Bottom line, she's incredible.
