This came out of nowhere seemingly (well, a lot of Kat news has been lately...especially her Italy trip today)--but that performance is one of the most incredible in Kat's song canon so far!  Thanks a lot to Simon and Minnie for the alerts to that tonight. Strangely, this isn't even mentioned on Kat's own McPheeClub board tonight (where a lot of us are posting now)...which means Kat news is unfortunately becoming segmented into three different places now.

I haven't heard about Paula Cole in a long time--though I think I remember hearing that 'Me' song somewhere before. You couldn't ask for a more perfect cover song to suit Kat's style. It has a perfect mix of pop/soul/jazz (plus fitting lyrics) to suit the kind of sounds Kat wants to do. Hopefully she'll put that as a track on a future album, despite this performance being definitive. Looks like we'll have another artist/songwriter wanting to buy a pizza and beer for Kat after this song becomes more popular due to Kat's rendition.

By the way, I remember Kat mentioning in her vid blog about her doing some covers for this Yahoo mini-concert. I take it there's more stuff she did on this, or is this it? I'm guessing this is just a preview for what we'll be hearing later on Yahoo. I loved that studio setting even better than AOL's set. There's a high budget going on there. Coupled with Kat's beautiful presence, voice and interpretation, this is going to be one popular internet video I think.

Wow, what a cool performance. And yes, a perfect song for Kat. What a wonderful treat for all us fans, and on a day when her first single "officially" breaks into the Top 40. We really couldn't ask for more. Thanks Kat for bringing such light into our lives.

Phee could of labeled it, "How to  avoid having Yahoo/Pepsi get your uploaded video deleted from GoFish with one crazy name." 
I love the car maintenance theme. I can't wait for the bleeding the brakes video segment.

Did you rip this video yourself Phee or is this trippy11's version?   The fact that it is WMV makes me wonder if perhaps the capturing within a window technique was employed, rather than a straight rip.

Ah - I didn't realize there would be a difference, trippy must have done it that way. Well, you live and you learn.

I was actually asking, did you rip an flv and convert it?  Because my Sniffer was showing no streams for that sight at all. If so, what did you use to get it?   Content providers are generally getting very good a preventing my freeware tools from getting their  content these days.  This is like the fifth time in a week.

My streamed file detected in cache by the sniffer was a wmv. If I did anything to it, like chop off the pepsi into and outro then I'd be left with a wmv with no sound. In Media player anyway. I'll try skippy's. Don't know how she got the raw url, i'm not seeing it in the source code, no mention of a wmv at all...

Edit: Wow - trippy's is actually watchable, what a huge difference. I'm going to have to ask her how she did that.
