I am so incredibly excited right now!!  Since I first heard Kat's Ordinary World I had a vision knocking around in my head and it wouldn't let me go!  Thanks to Kelly here on Katfans I was able to get hooked up with Windows Movie Maker to get this off the ground and out of my head!  I want to share it with everyone here in my Kat Fan Family

It took me about 10 hours but I was finally able to finish this video and I just posted it on You Tube.  I have often thought I'd like to be able to somehow say thanks to all of the soldiers who serve our country so this is my huge thank you to all that they and their families have sacrificed.

I hope if Kat sees this she will know how much this song has touched me and helped me to take a vision in my head and make it into something that I can share in a tangeable way.

I hope it helps her to like the song more too.

Enjoy!

Danette,

That was a one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen and a wonderful tribute to the troops.  I seriously, cried at work right now watching it, "Ordinary World" was perfect for it.  My heart bleeds for those families, you also gave a nice plug for the "Kids, Teens & Soldiers," Charity CD drive, as some wounded soldiers will be receiving Kat's CD thanks to her wonderful fans.  So, hopefully more people will be feeling charitable after watching your video and they'll go out and purchase a CD to send off for the Charity Project.

I agree with Amanda, this should be sent to the networks, it was that amazing.  Thanks and God bless you for doing this for the  troops and the fans.

Danette,

I commend you for a job well done! I have been working in the world of television professionally for 20 years and have edited many projects, so I know how challenging editing can be at first. You did a wonderful job. I am impressed. And what I am most impressed by is your vision of what the song could be to our troops and their families. It really is a perfect song for this. You can clearly see the passion that you had in putting the piece together. Yes, technically there are of course things that could use a little brush-up, BUT, what I want to emphasize is that you DELIVERED on your presentation. As we all know, it is one thing to sing but another thing to really "deliver" a song. The same goes for editing or anything really. As a new editor there of course is lots of room for growth for you, but what all the teaching and training in the world will NOT give you is that "extra" piece that only comes from within. That piece that stirs the soul and makes ordinary work extraordinary. You clearly have that extra piece in this video. Something was working through you on this one to get your message out. I have rarely if ever seen such a nice job from someone so new to the business.  Thank you for sharing your beautiful vision with us. I have sent the link to most everyone on my e-mail list. I hope everyone else does the same. This is the power of music at its best!

You have, with your images and Katharine's song, captured the true spirit of our feelings for our wonderful men and women in uniform whose dedication and bravery every day leads them to step outside of their ordinary world so that we may continue to live in ours secure in the knowledge that they are there. That this brought tears to my eyes tells me that vision, talent and love have all come together in a way that mere words cannot describe. May God bless you.

Katharine's summer is full of hope, full of potential, and promises to provide many bouquets to grace the home that I call my heart.

Danette....I am so impressed with your first video effort, "Ordinary World" an extraordinary tribute to our soldiers and their families.

Kat's performance of this song is also my favorite. It's wonderful how you have edited your pictures and her music to capture and make a truly moving and powerful statement, that is, what is the sense of this war and  what impact war has on the human spirit and on those who bravely wait to be reunited.

I have attempted some videomaking and find it unbelievable that you spent only 10 hours to produce this outstanding work. You've got it.  Can't wait to see your next one. Bravo!

We are definitely working together -- working on a record together. She sings so magnificently, it's just amazing -David Foster-

WOW!!! What an unexpected and wonderful tribute to our troops! It brought tears to my eyes. Kat's song was the perfect backdrop to such moving images. Thank you for the time and effort it took to put that video together. A must see for everyone!! I've given it the highest rating and also shared the link with everyone in my buddy list. God bless our soldiers!!

Hugs to all, Teilah

Hi everyone!

First I want to say thank you for all of your kind words! You have made my day!  I am an artist to the depths of my soul and this has to be one of the most satisfying and rewarding things I've ever done.  It's hard to explain the feeling of giving wings to a vision that is stuck inside waiting to get out and that is how it has been.  Today I gave birth to a vision.

Of course my first priority is for those serving to have a chance to get this "gift" and I hope in this high tech world some of them will be reached.  It took awhile to catch on to the movie making program but once I figured it out it was really a fun way to create (usually I write or do pencil sketching).  The only way I could figure out how to get it out there was with You Tube but if anyone knows of any other avenue I'd love to hear about it.  You can e-mail me a danettejb59@aim.com

It's funny because I am out of a job right now and was feeling guilty for spending all this time I should have been looking for a job.  I'm trying to find a job in Medical Admin so maybe someone out there has a good lead for me...   I guess I can stop feeling guilty now!

Thanks everyone...blessings...blessings...blessings

I, for one, would like the source video for this thing if you wouldn't mind. I don't grab many of these fan videos but this one transcends that...this is truly awesome, could you upload the source video to Sendspace?

Kat's Comment to me:

"Lauren,
don't worry about your gift and not getting on time. That is sooo sweet but you didn't have to do that. I really appreciate it. I read your comment and it really touched me. I'm happy you enjoyed your first season of Idol. I mostly thank you for all your support. It means more than anything. I just love that people are enjoying the music. Keep in touch and thanks again. Cute page too!

Sometime this weekend when I'm in my compassionate writing mood, I'm sending this thread to Ann Curry at the Today Show.  Ann is one of the most kindest and compassionate journalist we have out there today, and I bet she would love this tribute.

Danette, this gift to us as fans is also an absolutely magnificent tribute to our service men and women everywhere, and with "Ordinary World" as it's soundtrack it's simply an extraordinary creation! Since, as you've explained, Katharine's wonderful song was clearly your inspiration for this masterpiece, may I be so bold as to suggest you post a "Happy Birthday" to her at Minnie's thread on Kat Chat in which you tell Kat you'd like to dedicate this video to her on her birthday (now scarcely 24 hrs away) and include the above YouTube link in that Happy Birthday post to Kat? Such a dedication to Kat, if you choose to make it, would please her immensely!

There is nothing more that I can add to all of the previous "comments" that everyone has taken the time to convey to you! As I mentioned in my "comment" on the YouTube space, I really believe that you have found your calling...votre raison d'etre.. (your reason for being) ... and please everyone, excuse my poor French! It's been over 45 years since I've tried to write anything en Francais!! It just seemed to fit! I am also one who knows what it's like to finally be able to express one's deepest thoughts and emotions. What a tremendous relief and "high" you must be feeling! Congratulations! And, I hope that this really opens the eyes of your boys to what a fantastically talented woman they have for their Mom!! (I do imagine they know that!)

Cobaby.....please let us all know the response you receive from Ann Curry!!! This video (and author) need to be recognized for a wonderful piece of work!
